Two observations. First, coming into this game Union ranked fifth in the nation in goals scored per game at 3.69. Through forty minutes I haven't seen any trace of that Union team. Second, coming into today's game Union ranked first in the nation on the power play hitting on just a shade more than 31% of its opportunities. Union has had umteen power plays today and can't sniff a goal. Might be that Reiter is better than many/most of the goalies Union saw prior to today. Just my $.02.

It's truly amazing this game is still 1-0 with all the power play time. I don't think anybody expected this.
Duluth has better top end talent, but in terms of depth, the teams are similar (each has five guys that have scored 10 or more goals this season).Melrose says UMD doesn't have the offensive talent Union has

I found it odd in the WCHA championship game how the refs reversed themselves. EVERYTHING got called during regulation, then rape & attempted murder were overlooked during the OT periods. These HE clowns apparently don't like hockey much...
