i finally read more about the ebola outbreak today, and holy shit.

this one was caught REALLY late. like, it's astonishing how many cases there already were, when it was caught. It has never taken this long to identify and set up tracing chains. With how much this has already spread, hoo boy tracing will be fun. Of course, the virulence is so high that it can't spread that easily, so the fact it spread as much as it did is fucking scary

like rubio said, how dare they handle this so poorly????

I've already seen the fear-mongering over an Ebola outbreak during the World Cup that will devastate the US.

Fortunately that won't be a problem because no one is traveling here, World Cup or no.

but also, it's just not that easy to spread, like covid is. and the culture in west africa is vastly different than ours, which facilitates spread more easily.

which is too bad, because we deserve a plague
