Dump Term 2 Part 5: He Didn't Specify Which Civilization Would Die...

For many people, yes, it was the only issue. When your family and friends are being massacred you focus on that for some strange reason.

I understand. I remember people mocking Tlaib on here for refusing to say whether she’d vote for Biden/Harris. I defended her then, and I’d defend her now. I disagree with the way to send a message. Not voting is the weakest response. Corporate Democrats won’t change their stripes because “The Left” doesn’t show up. I’m sure they’re delighted when we don’t.

I can’t even say I’d blame the Arab-Americans for Harris losing. Not enough of them. But, my question still stands for you to answer for everyone else, the vast majority of people who didn’t have friends or family dying in Palestine. One-issue voter? Or look deeper?

I would point out (again) that I worked for Harris in 2024. Wrote letters. Knocked doors. Made phone calls. Got a call from the head of the state Democratic Party to thank me for my efforts. Curious what many people in this thread did, aside from write angry comments on the Internet.

But yes, there were other single issue voters out there. For example, health care. Both parties are quite sincere in the belief that if you can't afford health care you should die. I'm not talking rhetoric, I mean actual policy. The difference is that one party will gleefully push you into an open grave and the other will hold your hand and speak softly as they calmly walk you into the grave. But unless your gofundme goes viral, you're still in a grave. Providing health care for those people is too expensive, you know. How are you going to pay for it? I mean, it's not like the rest of the civilized world has figured it out.

And I mocked her then, and I still privately mock her and her even nuttier sister now. She did a selfish thing for "her" people and should own her part in making America pay the cost of another 4 (?) years of Senile Hitler. But what's past is past and she anchors that district now that it sells more shawarma than gołąbki, so work with her we must.

Yes, thank you for your efforts that were clearly in vain. It doesn’t answer my question. At the end of the day, these people pointed to your efforts and said “Fuck you, Kamala Harris can’t answer what she would have done differently than the man who helped cap insulin at $35.” At the end of the day, your vote and mine both counted the same, but we voted. The ones who stay home to prove a point…what changes will be made for them?

But Cory Booker doesn’t get it? You’re talking in circles here. Cory Booker is also saying “Fuck you” to Tlaib. Do we know if she didn’t vote for sure? I disagree with her not voting if she didn’t, but of all the people I can understand not voting, Tlaib would be one as she actually had family over there in harm’s way, as ticap alluded to.

At the end of the day, all that matters is if you vote. No one counts how many people you called, how many doors you knocked on, how much money you raised. Not trying to be sarcastic. Thank you for doing that, ticap, but they count the votes. Did you show up to vote? Yes? Great. No? Go fuck yourself.

Nobody gets it. It's exactly why the GOP/Republican party still gets majorities in this country. Anyone with a functioning cortex that isn't a billionaire would never vote for those clowns. Ever.

What doesn’t he get? Like lol. You stayed home, go fuck yourself. I’m not going to tiptoe around that. You DID help Trump win. Fuck your feelings.

Edit: Not YOU, obviously. The “aggrieved” people who think they know better.
Sure, but it doesn't help that they are selling 6 day old fish and calling it prime rib.

Yeah I am with Scoob here. (1) If your product doesn't sell you do not blame the consumer, you recognize you are selling shit. (2) Over and above the gyrations of the Center and the Left, there wouldn't be a problem if the Right wasn't able to sell pure unadulterated fascism and make a (genocidal) killing.

The Left, cutting our nose off to spite our face since…siempre, siempre y para siempre.

The DNC abuses the Left for 71 months to coddle the Center, then whines they don't show up for them. No sympathy.

The Left has problems, yes, but the entitlement of the Center is pathetic and toxic.

I'll be voting Blue no matter who til I die, but let's not suggest Middle Earth isn't almost wholly to blame for the last 40 years. They are the ones who gave away all the ground so now we are on the precipice. The Dems should never have pandered to them. They should have steered as far Left as Reagan was Right to keep the fulcrum from moving. But they sold out to Flatland and look where it's gotten us.

"When they came for Sister Souljah I said nothing because I was a white moderate Wait Wait Don't Tell Me listener who thought the world revolved around me."

#2. That’s it. End of story. If the “Right” was Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker, and moderate Democrats, like basically everywhere else in the developed world, I wouldn’t be having this type of conversation. It’s not, and because it’s not, you don’t get to take your ball and go home in this environment. Any white person who gets to write an article in The Atlantic about how they don’t vote, or vote for only certain candidates because they’re so pure and just and smarter than the rest of us VBNMW, can be summarily deported to Ethiopia, or wherever the fuck it is we send American citizens nowadays.

Sister Souljah votes for Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton far more than she votes for Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Do we want to know why? Do we care?

As Lewis Black put it: My job (at the White House Correspondents' Dinner) was to take a stick, jam it gently up their ass, swirl it around, smell it and confirm that, no, their shit doesn't stink.

Or, as he put it back in the 90's: A Democrat will stand up and announce, "I've got a really shitty idea!" and the Republican will say, "And I can make it worse!"

And they sure picked the winner on that issue, didn't they?
They didn't pick because both candidates were the same on that issue. Just as many Palestinians would be dead now.

They looked at it like Tic-Tac-Toe or Globalthermal Nuclear War: The only winning move is not to play.

I am well aware of that. We will never take back the country from the fascists until we take back the Democratic party from the Centrists.

Who was the only candidate that could have possibly changed their position on that matter?

We'll never know because neither major party held a primary. The Democrats silenced all discussion of the matter at the Convention and Republicans were more than happy to kill more towel heads©️

Can't get the link to post correctly, but someone on Threads pointed out this whole ballroom fiasco goes back to 2010 and the Deepwater Horizon oil leak. Trump contacted the Obama administration to help with the disaster. But the crisis was fixed and his help wasn't needed (or wanted). But he kept reaching out, because large state dinners were held in tents on the WH grounds. Trump could fix that. Gift the WH a ballroom.

In 2011, when he was flirting with running (also when Obama destroyed him at the WHCA dinner) he once again used the ballroom as a crutch to his potential campaign in discussion with Rush Limbaugh.

Again, in 2016, before the Iowa caucus, he again rants about bad security and the tent company profiting off the government. Needs to have a ballroom.

There's been a pattern for 16 years, and these Ballroom Republicans are just lapping it up.

If I were elected President the first thing I would do is tear down the fucking ballroom and rebuild the East Wing.

Then I would contract with a hotel that is NOT a Trump hotel in DC and have a more secure ballroom facility constructed.
