Dump Term 2, 1.01: Sleep Now in the Fire

You think any of the spineless GOP is going to coup against him? We know the Dems won't and the Far Left has zero organization or power. So yeah don't hold your breathe...

I don't like it, but I get it. Fifteen years and 24 billion dollars later, all Boeing has produced is two flights of the SLS rocket and one crewed launch that they didn't return in. It's also incompatible with the SpaceX system and astronauts training for one craft cannot fly the other.

Unfortunately, this also 86's the modern moonshot program.
I have no love for Boening...but I don't want SpaceX responsible for US Spaceflight.

No. I mean the military. The brass are generally very well educated and understand the relationship between the military and the civilian side of a state.

That civ-mil relationship is the military agreeing to not interfere so long as certain standards are upheld. They don't swear an oath to the president, they swear it to the constitution. And the upper military leadership understands that by and large. Once that constitutional order is threatened OR the military itself is threatened, that agreement is broken and all bets are off.

He's completely immune. Not only did the Supreme Court say so but no one who could take him down has any interest in taking him down. He can do whatever the hell he wants, whenever the hell he wants.

Boeing has become a joke; a shell of its former self, with all divisions run by a line of McDonnell Douglas bean-counters ever since Alan Mulally left to try and fix Ford.

That said, privatizing the US space program and handing all development over to SpaceX would be infinitely worse.

You think the military is going to overthrow Trump? I don't know what types of drugs you are on but hook a brother up!

That's not what I said.

What I said is there's a line. If Trump tried to actually invade Canada, for example, that would result in his removal.

As much as Elmo is a shit sandwich, if he gets us to transfer the entire military and social welfare budget to space I am for it.

Our only hope it to get FTL and get away from Dump's flaccid fucks. Columbus was a POS, too. We could be outta here by 2050. It's worth 7B deaths. Sod the proles.

Why? They can write off the losses for tax purposes and SpaceX can pick up a couple rockets for pennies on the dollar.
Just do it. Same reason he bought Twitter. To vanquish competition and show that despite his terrible hair plus, his Beluga Whale shaped (and colored) body and his not even be able to play video games that he is still a man. Plus the name has value...
