That’s only four votes, since there’s three liberals on the Court. Roberts is not a liberal. I agree with Kepler’s assessment on what goes into Roberts’ rulings.
 
Roberts ruled the way he did because he just threw a tantrum that no one respects the Court and he wants to pretend they are objective...which Alito also screwed up.

As for Handmaid's Tale...my guess is Roberts pushed her that way.
 
So two justices won't do what they've been commanded because they want to pretend they haven't bent the knee. Spare me. Wait until the appeal goes to them. The appeal will be successful and the verdict will be overturned.

He isn't getting jail time so an appeal is rather worthless anyways...not that he is paying for it.

But yes, if an appeal reaches them they will definitely say he was covered by immunity or some such nonsense even though, just for the sake of trying to look legit, it would make sense not to.

If the 34 felonies get erased it will matter a tiny bit. That's enough for me.

I see Dump took a shit on the entire Justice System after the hearing was over. Prick.

I meant for him...obviously for us it does matter. To him it means dick he wont go to jail and will essentially be untouchable. Any fines will be paid by his droolers.

Because the rural areas can't afford to pay more because the rural folk refuse to raise their taxes to cover services like this and they continue to vote for tax cuts to the rich which *would* cover these services.

You know that very long list of those in Trump's circle who have been convicted or indicted (Cohen, Manafort, Stone, Parnas, Giuliani, Bannon and dozens more)? Now Trump is at the top of the list. Whether he likes it or not.
 
When Jack Smith's Report is released and Trump posts/whines non-stop branding it as lies and fake, will a single journalist ask him why anyone should believe him when he repeatedly claimed the Mueller Report "totally exonerated" him when it actually said "CANNOT EXONERATE"?

I honestly think video-based social media is a particularly awful form of brain rot.

I have a half-baked theory that something happens with our brains when we watch videos of any kind. It turns off some sort of failsafe and just goes straight past the logic gates. We just start to believe shit that would never get past those alarms if we we read it.

when a brain reads something, it feels like there's some sort of basic logic routines that make us less susceptible to the absolute batshit insane stuff. But when we watch a video, it doesn't pass through those same logic routines and we are more likely to swallow it.
 
Well a lot of us were raised on getting info from "watching the news". We were trained to believe that what we see is the truth. We made ourselves easy to manipulate, just like we were warned about.
