Bemidji has been able to control the tempo for the most part here in the first five minutes or so of the 2nd. It will be interesting to see how Duluth responds.

And this is why the CCHA quit using the Thursday play-in games.

Also, except for Michigan hockey fans, there aren't enough college hockey fans in a three hour radius willing to drive to Detroit on a Thursday afternoon. MLPS should have had a little better attendance, but I wouldn't be hopeful.

It will be interesting to see what the attendance numbers are for this game. I think tonight there will be more casual fans. I don't blame Gopher fans for not wanting to take a day off of work to watch two other teams play.

1:12 left in the 2nd. Duluth has really taken control of play over the last few minutes.

That's the end of the second period. For the most part, I thought Bemidji had control. Duluth really had a spurt of about 4 minutes where it looked they were going to score. Anyway, we're going to the third with Duluth up 2-1.

This isn't a play-in game, so to speak. Unless you mean the CCHA just has 4 teams from the get-go.

And while I know there's only a couple years left of this, when MN/WI makes it, it makes a huge difference.

Fontaine gets tackled behind the net, and Duluth will go onto the powerplay. It will be 4x3 for about a minute, and then 5x4 if it gets that far for the rest of the powerplay.
