Dryden "Hobey" McKay ... doping sanction?

1. I think McKay was innocent and it was the manufacturers fault not listing ingredients

Not relevant. He is responsible for what is in his body. And to further expound on this, he is free to sue the manufacturer for fraud and try to recoup any losses he claims, but he also took a non-NSF supplement when explicitly directed that was a bad idea. Either way, he is directly responsible for the banned substance being in his body.

2. How messed up is the NCAA that they suspend a player and its for 6 months starting out of season? If you are going to suspend a player then make it during their season. Idiotic.

Pay attention. The NCAA didn't suspend him.

Correct. I have edited. USADA suspension is still dumb. 6 months when nothing is going on is my point.

The fact that other college FA's are currently playing pro? IIHF World Championships? Summer development camp? Tell me you are clueless about hockey without saying you are clueless about hockey...

You are an idiot if you think McKay was playing in an of those events. He is a 25 year old undrafted goalie.....who is a 5'11 free agent.....my point is he played in the NCAA and now will basically miss nothing. He will end up in Europe.

Yeah, no chance he could have signed a FA contract with an ECHL team at worst. He's terrible. Or, you could read the Sports Net article and understand there was NHL interest that he couldn't act on...

NHL interest doesn't mean a thing....he is 5'11 and not an NHL prospect. He will make a nice career in the European league and there is no shame in that. He played on a great team with great defense and only saw 15 shots a game....he is 25 years old....deal with it.

Go look at my history. I was leading the "he doesn't deserve the Richter" bandwagon. Doesn't matter. I'm not talking long term (where I agree with you). He would have signed a contract to play at minimum ECHL, and most likely AHL for the rest of this season if not for the suspension. Much worse players than him already have. Teams are willing to try to catch lightning in a bottle with non-prospects at this time of year because it doesn't cost hardly anything. You deal with it.
