Got 2 bottles Darkness so far.

Drinking my first bottle of Itasca Loonadragon and it is simply excellent. As good as any barrel aged imperial Stout I've had.

Re: Drinking Thread: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Wine - Raise a Glass, All Are Welcome

Wait... do you mean RC Cola? That stuff still exists?

Yep. I didn't know it existed either until our jack_ss AD signed a deal with a concession company that carries it as their cola.

To be honest though, I'd rather have RC than Pepsi... so there's that.

Oh yeah and the store that does the liquor lotteries just sent out the annual Pappy signup. About 6 or 7 varieties including the 20 and 23.

Gonna signup just for S & G's. probably have a better shot at PowerBall.

If you ever want to make a deal....especially for the 20. That one was my fave.

Maybe I should bread out my bottle of Stagg for the party this friday.

I've had the 3 Pappys. The 15 was actually disappointing. I didn't think much of it, relative to high enders. The 23 was VERY good and probably better quality than the 20, I just really loved the 20.

God ****ing dammit

I'd be up for a weekend in Madison/road trip. DX, you'd get your Pappy (and Stagg), and there are a few taprooms/etc there. Go in July or something....boomfun.

Huh. Yeah, literally did not know it was still being made. I remember they used to carry it at Shea Stadium before the Mets switched over to Pepsi. And yes, I'd rather have RC too.

Hit up Cooper's Tavern which had a ton of great brews just last weekend.

I have 16 gallons of Widowmaker. Help me drink it.

Re: Drinking Thread: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Wine - Raise a Glass, All Are Welcome

Got my 2 bottles of Surly Darkness (one each from two stores). One store I had to get lucky and be there at delivery time. The other store (my main store) saved me a bottle. They were telling normal customers they were out, but in reality they were saving them for their premiere customers, like me. :D

Re: Drinking Thread: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Wine - Raise a Glass, All Are Welcome

Just tried a Peak Organic Pomegranate Wheat....meh. I've had better.

I have four philosophers or three I can't remember. It's not for me.

Re: Drinking Thread: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Wine - Raise a Glass, All Are Welcome

Had 4 new beers and a cider last night

Knee Deep Hoptologist IPA Very good not quite as hoppy as I thought it would be.

Curious Traveler Jaco O' Shandy This is a Pumpkin Shandy, it was not good I generally do not like pumpkin beers

Bell's Porter pretty good, a solid Porter not too smoky

Six Point Resin Double IPA Very good, not quite as good as their Hi-Res IPA but close.

Original Sin Green Apple Cider Ok but still looking for a cider that can compare to Crispin which is my favorite.

Ommegang is one of my favorite craft breweries along with Six Point and Captain Lawrence with the exception of Take the Black, I'm not a stout drinker, I have yet to have a bad or even OK beer from them.

Re: Drinking Thread: Beer, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Wine - Raise a Glass, All Are Welcome

Well, I didn't win any of the Van Winkles. Oh well. Saves me a bunch of money that would have gone towards stuff that I wouldn't fully appreciate anyway. Would have just had it on hand for guests.

On another note though, these guys are having a sale tomorrow and I will finally pull the trigger on 6 or 7 rums that I'm dying to try but can't get around here. It's only 10%, but sales on alcohol really don't happen much and certainly not on the stuff I'm looking at.

Gonna drop almost $300 after midnight tonight. :D
