It has that nice, slightly sour aftertaste you find in some lagers. Kind of like it, although it also takes a bit getting used to.

It's the best cheap beer ever. And Nordeast is simply its more mature brother. ;)

I finally caved in a tried a sip of the McCallan 12. Really good and smooth. I am not a scotch drinker or a whiskey drinker in general. Mostly due to the fact that Jack Daniels does not like me. Jameson and Makers like me though.

Anything in particular I should try to find and drink while in Greece?

If you don't mind a licorice taste, find some Ouzo (pronounced OOZE-oh). That is the official Greek liquor.

One of their main beers is called Mythos, and is a lager. Pretty good, especially if you are interested in the "do as the locals do".

Maybe I'm not getting a joke here, but how do you drink goat?

You have to use a blender, but it will work.

(actually, I misread your first post, I thought you said eat or drink, and I was saying you should eat some goat when you're there)

I think Greece is a place were they eat goat regularly, but maybe not, correct me if I'm wrong there. And I've heard good things about it.

You can find ouzo in the States, too. My SIL and her mother drink it fairly often.

Ah. Yeah, I definitely want to eat some goat. I don't love ouzo but I suppose I'll have to give it another shot while I'm there.

Also, Daenerys' Dragon's roasted goat was fresh in my mind at that time.

Even More Jesus by Evil Twin Brewing: Excellent stout. Tons of flavors, and a very thick pour. This isn't a beer that looks dark but pours like any other beer, this stuff pours like drain oil, and when you sip it the texture/feel is like sipping half and half. With that said, I loved it. It was exactly what I want in a double stout, and if you like this kind of beer, I highly recommend it.

Ooh, nice pick. Even More Jesus is a great beer. The guy who owns Evil Twin has a pub here in NY some of his own stuff and some other uncommon beers on tap; it was a brain fart not to suggest it to you when you were here. It's on the expensive side, but worth it to try something different and great if you ask me; we'll hit it up if you're back in the area sometime.

Tonight's round of Drink the Beer features Great Lakes Brewing Co. Eliot Ness; it's an amber lager. For a lighter beer, I definitely approve.

Was at OC (Plym) for the first period of the Kings game tonight. Had:

Evil Twin's The Cowboy. Smoked pilsner. Quite tasty. Just the right amount of hints of smoke. Definitely would have again.
Stillwater Artisanal Brontide. Saison, it was ok. I'd definitely drink it again, but dunno if I'd make a point of buying it at the store.

A hefty pour of Korbel XS
A sugar cube
Four long dashes angostura bitters
A splash and a small pour of club soda
One maraschino cherry for fun

Not a bad way to finish the week

Brent, MNS, Dx, etc, I have found a new liquor store, and I want to show it to you.
