Re: Dr. Clayton Forrester's Science Roundup

Oh God... That description really takes the wind out of the story... :(

Gwyneth Paltrow is testifying to Congress about GMO labeling

Apparently, being a "concerned mother" now makes you an expert. However, there is proof that when Gwyneth Paltrow opens her mouth, she has a severe case of the derp.

She was awesome on Glee, though.

I get why they have stars give testimony. It's really, really, really, really dumb, but it works. One of these talking hairdos puts in an appearance and a million letters come in. An actual scientist gives real information and... crickets.

Oh, and reading through those quotes, not all of them are derpy. The quote about Witherspoon is actually dead on: she is way better than most of the crap movies she makes.

Speaking of that - see the dead thread.

Re: Dr. Clayton Forrester's Science Roundup

They were losing 300 million gallons a year to evaporation and they hadn't tried anything to stop it until now?

Re: Dr. Clayton Forrester's Science Roundup

Contrary to my alma mater, I am not an engineer, so I'm not going to feign knowledge of the thermodynamics involved here, but until I actually read through the whole thing, I thought you were posting an "article" on the level of FlagDUDE.

Re: Dr. Clayton Forrester's Science Roundup

We are, we are, we are, we are, we aren't an engineer?
;)

So I've had an Aston of thermo classes. Between chemistry and chemical engineering its at least a year and a half maybe two years. I still don't get it.

Although them chemist in me should disclose I've had some ethanol tonight b

It's Friday and my brain is off and I've been drinking. Those qualifications.

Not the chemistry and chemical engineering qualifications.

I assume this was lost in translation/definition of qualification. ;)

Missile launcher that weighs 200 kg has a range of 500m and a blast radius of 2km.

Never made it into production
