Care to sound off on what's cool and snappy about the new look? what sucks?

I'll start right off by saying the smilies are, in a word, pathetic. AOL instant-messenger-level stuff. :rolleyes: <-- see? I can't even express sarcasm to any level of satisfaction. WHAT IS THAT?? If you're going to all the trouble at least give us about 3 x the number of smilies. I'm pretty sure it's an easy configuration setting to make.

2. Am I blind, or is the Preview on a Reply with Quote missing?

I have had a problem with quotes that I have previously multi-quoted, and responded to, showing up again when I try to respond to a thread, so everytime I respond to that thread I have to delete the quotes that I've already responded to.

I use Firefox browser on two PCs that I regularly use for Internet access. One machine would not render the new graphics in Firefox mode, I had to switch to rendering in the Firefox IE engine. The other machine, it would render fine in Firefox mode.

Any thoughts as to what makes that so ?

Personally, I'd prefer if there were separate buttons for "reply" and "quick reply", rather than defaulting to quick reply and having to click through that to get a full reply window.

Agreed that the smilies are hideous. Something out of a late 80s video game or something. The roll eyes smiley looks like a happy smiley, etc.

Maybe I'm getting old, but at a glance these new smilies are so small and ill-defined that they all look the same to me unless I squint.

If there was some way to revert to the old smilies, I could probably get used to everything else. I actually like the seamless Quick Reply, good use of (I assume) AJAX.

So, the standings page now includes home/away (good), but no longer has GF/GA included (bad) and has *winning percentage* (derp)

Also, you can no longer click on a school name on the scoreboard page to get to their home page and roster and such. I'm not sure if the cute little logos next to the names work like that now, since, you know, the scoreboard page isn't loading currently.

The home page isn't loading either. Why they chose right when the season began to upgrade the site is beyond me.

And I think they were tweaking it tonight. Some of us were getting database errors and weren't able to load the board in general.

Hints for the future, Board:

1. Don't work on anything on Fri/Sat, unless it's an emergency.
2. Don't do upgrades within 2 weeks of the start of the season, unless it's an emergency.
