Division III Rutter Rankings for 2013-2014

I have always considered Sacred Heart as a DI independent. On that alone, they don't belong in the DIII rankings, even though they play many games against DIII teams. On a technical level, games against Sacred Heart don't effect a team's RPI or selection to the NCAA tournament, so I am not sure how they are as a gauge to a team's quality. They are stuck in no-womans land as far as the Rutter rankings are concerned.

Fair enough but isn't that true of the D2's and Holy Cross as well? Sacred Heart isn't playing a single game against D1 opponents this year, other than a non-counting exhibition against Yale.

Sacred Heart is playing every game against D2/D3's just like those other guys...just seems like they could be included without too much trouble so that at least the D2/D3 teams who do play them will have that reflected in their rankings for better or worse, rather than being artificially boosted or held down (albeit probably not a ton) by having it be as if the games never happened

I didn't know where to put this inquiry, so I chose this topic because it deals with rankings:

Can anyone tell me why the USCHO National PairWise Comparison for D-III Women does not include any of the WIAC schools? They show up in the West Comparison and the KRACH rankings, but not the National Comparison. Thanks.

Hmmm.....I know its all about the math, but still hard to believe after this weekend that Middlebury and Amherst didn't drop further.

It's 1 game. The rating system doesn't care that it was a playoff game etc...
