Looks good to me.
The return of the senior goalie certainly elevates Cardinal expectations.
Plattsburgh is loaded.
But I always am of the mindset, the defending champs are #1 until beaten.
I know this is all speculation at this point, but with 3 of my top 4 on the ice this weekend I could not resist:
1) Elmira
2) Norwich
3) Middlebury
4) Plattsburgh
5) Gustavus Adolphus
6) St. Norbert
7) Wisconsin-River Falls
8) Manhattanville
9) Trinity
10) Lake Forest
Where is the love for your Polar Bears. Good Recruiting class and well coached will keep the Polar Bears in the hunt all season
Unless, of course, the #2 team went 27-1-1 the prior year, beat the tourney champs three times, lost one player to graduation, and get an All-American senior back from injury to "replace" her. Sorry, I think Plattsburgh should have been #1, but it is only a preseason poll. Automatically putting last year's tournament winner as #1 is just lazy and mindless. (But then, the men's poll did exactly the same thing....an Oswego team that lost 14 players to graduation is still #3.)
Goalie??? I may dream in Black and White (and am still in therapy trying to work out that 3/9/13 nightmare), but we are hitting the ice with a collective SIX MINUTES (granted 4/4 and a 1.000 saves %) of collegiate experience in net.
The NESCAC has Jones, Pujol and Fralick and I think those teams may eclipse this year's Polar Bears. Would that we could have seniors getting to play an extra season, but...
I guess we will have to wait and see! I probably would have given the Freshman Goalie a couple of games last year to see what she actually had. Looks like they only brought in one other Goalie this year, so maybe the coach knows something we don't!
GO U Bears
We need more depth for polling purposes (come on Polar Bear Fan and Crosscheck!). Current feeling has it (including Bill R's echo):
1) Elmira 49
2) Plattsburgh 43
3) Middlebury 40
4) Norwich 34
5) Gustavus Adolphus 33
6) St. Norbert 23
7) Wisconsin-River Falls 20
8) Manhattanville 17
9) Bowdoin 7
10) Trinity 5
11) Adrian 2
11) Lake Forest 2

While my heart is with the NESCAC, this is a thread for all of D-III Womens hockey, and you will find that not everyone feels the same about the NESCAC. Might I suggest you start a new NESCAC thread where people can have specific comments on the NESCAC conference. I for one would be a frequent visitor, and would have definite differences on your rankings.
