No week 1 is an ex. week....you get points for all your players. We don't pick our lineups untill week two, the first head to head match up week.

I most certainly will never be caught dead in a leisure suit, scarf and glasses with oversized frames. Wouldn't he periodically be smoking a pipe as well?

Yeah, that was him. He creeped me out 30+ years ago. He was as fruity as the produce section at Kroger. Gimme Richard Dawson, 7 drinks into the show. He was the king.

Wasn't Richard Dawson on Hollywood Squares? Match Game also had Fannie Flagg, who I remembered as pretty outrageous.

I think Richard Dawson was on most game shows in the late 70's at one time or another, short of The Price is Right. And I'm pretty sure he was liquored up on a good portion of them.

Didn't he get canned from Family Feud for pushing himself on female contestants?

If that was the case, it took them a helluva long time to do so. He was on there about 8 years before they clipped him.

Not according to Wikipedia. There is no reference to him having been fired for such actions. They have the complete history of the show, and according to them, when he returned as host in 94ish and in deference to his new wife and daughter, he stopped the kissing act. I know Wikipedia is not an acceptable academic reference but for pop culture it is usually pretty reliable.

Wikipedia confirms that my memory is going. Richard was a regular on the match game :embarrassed:
