Fri. Update: Hobart takes Eastern Belt from Utica in OT with rematch set for Super Bowl Sunday afternoon.
GAC retains the Hardcore Belt against Hamline with rematch set for Saturday.

Sat. Update: For the first time since late '06, the D3 Title Belt holder has failed to defend 4 straight times. UWEC now holds this and Western Belt after beating UWRF.
GAC defended the Hardcore Belt completing the weekend sweep vs. Hamline.

Fri. Update: NCHA teams continue to avoid the D3 Title and Western Belts like the plague w/o a successful defense for a record 5th straight time. St. Scholastica recaptures the belts for a 2nd time in 3 weeks with a win over UWEC.
St.Mary's takes the Hardcore belt from GAC who can recapture it on Sat.
Utica successfully defends the Eastern Belt in round 1 of 2 vs. Naz.

Fri. Update: The Belts no one wants. For the 7th straight time the D3CB (& Western Belt) have failed to be defended. UWSP now holds both belts after beating UWRF.
GAC and Utica successfully defend their belts with Saturday rematches pending.

Sat. Update: UWRF re-takes the belts from UWSP. Likely for the first time--the belts were defended twice in the same day, first in the regular game then in a mini-game. So, with a successful mini-game defense, UWRF ends the record streak of 8 straight failures by teams defending these two belts.
St.Olaf takes the Hardcore belt from GAC with a MIAC playoff rematch slated for Friday.
Utica successfully defends the Eastern belt and gets M'ville for the 3rd straight time next week.

Help me out here, what is the hardcore belt for? Penalties? Is it who gets the most penalties or least penalties?

Excellent! We could see a unification bout next year: Manhattanville owning the Eastern Belt and another eastern team possibly holding the Championship Belt! I smell a pay-per-view event!!!

Sat. Update: The regular season started with SNC holding the D3C and Western Belts and the regular season ends with SNC holding them after defeating UWEC in the final NCHA Championship.
Neumann takes the Eastern Belt from M'ville in the E-W title tilt and will hold it through the summer.

Sat. Update: UWEC takes the D3C and Western Belts from St.Norbert. UWEC's Western Belt is retired until the Fall and it's on them to keep the D3C Belt in the West for another year.

Sat. Update: UWEC defeats Oswego to retain the D3C Belt and keep it in the West to start <strike>for</strike> another year. The D3C and Western Belts will potentially be unified at least until Spring of '14.

Unless Superior takes it from Eau Claire before the Primelink? Or St. Norbert has it before their trip to Oswego? Or some Eastern team goes out west for a holiday tourny at Adrian or wherever... Inter-regional games are few in number, but they exist.
