Norwich edged So.Maine to retain the Eastern.
The Hardcore & Smackdown belts wil be up for grabs starting next weekend.

Not buying St. Thomas at all. While yes they won over UWSP, their strength of schedule is weak. In fact, the Tommies are ranked #15 with USCHO. If anything, one can make a case for Augsburg at #4

Based on that logic, the Tommies could lose their next three games and UWSP could win their next three games and Tommies would still own the belt. No comprendo amigo

The Tommies wouldn’t have the belt anymore if they lost their next game, let alone next three games.

Also, none of this matters at all even in the slightest. It’s just for fun.

The "belt" was originally awarded to Middlebury in the midst of their long string of championships. Since that initial award, a team that beats the belt holder becomes the new belt holder. Except in odd circumstances where the team with the belt doesn't get into the NCAAs, the winner of the NCAAs emerges from the tournament with the belt for the next season. The other belts function in a similar way..
