Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

449 feet, my ***. It was 436 feet to the flagpole, and that went a good 30 feet farther than that. That hit the top of the wall directly under Kaline's statue.

MIGGY!!

4-1, top 5

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Boy, if Fulmer gets out of the 5th here, I don't think I send him out for the 6th. He's starting to get hit.

VICTOR!!

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

I do not like this umpire's strike zone tonight. Not one bit.

CASTELLANOS!!

6-2, top 8

That looked like about a 4-iron to dead center.

9-2 final.

Not even Buck Futter could screw this up in the 9th.

1st major league win for Fulmer.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well, the throw got there in time, but Zimmerman never had his foot on the bag.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well, Miggy's pointing and laughing. He can't be hurt too badly.

4-1 final.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

If you run through the bag, instead of sliding head-first, you beat the throw to first every time. Regardless of whether they review this, this is head-up-your-*** baseball on the Twins part.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Top of the wall. That's not a homer for Mauer.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well, Pelfrey's been somewhere between mediocre and ****-poor (and leaning towards the latter), but his defense sure hasn't helped him that much. Iggy should have had that one.

CASTELLANOS!!

5-5, top 6

Somehow, someway, Pelfrey is off the hook with a ND.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well they are certainly scoring runs. I might have to go get Castellanios for my fantasy team, he's just lighting it up.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Castellanos has been far better than I thought he would be so far. Now you watch, he'll go into a 1-25 slump.

McCann is back. Bobby Wilson was traded back to the Rangers for a 27 year old AAA pitcher. I didn't think much of Wilson's work.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Verlander pitching through shadows and still getting hit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well, Verlander apparently left his fastball inside Kate tonight. It's 7:15 and I can now act like I'm getting something else done around here.
