Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well, what about tonight?

A new pitcher in the 8th, down a run, and Iggy goes and swings at the first thing he sees, just about his shoetops.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

This team's just in a slump from top to bottom, Kinsler and JD exempted. I suspect that's all it is at the moment.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

wel they need to get out of it and fast. Though how we are to make it thru the year with Pelfrey and Sanchez in the rotation I have no idea. Not to mention Greene being kind of on again off again.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

No Miggy and no Upton today. No win, and no reason to watch this mess. This thing spun out of control in a hurry.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Both starting pitchers are gone within the span of about 8 pitches. Greene leaves with a blister. There was a nice red spot on the ball on the last pitch.

So now our bullpen is burnt and we have to go to the pen in the 4th inning.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Uh-oh. I think Miggy's starting to Miggy again. A bomb and a double tonight in his first two at bats.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

I think this might be the end of Zimmerman's streak right here. Collins lost a ball in the lights, and then Upton couldn't pick it up, and then Collins almost airmailed everyone on the field trying to throw it to 3rd.

And then Collins flipped the bird to the crowd.

I didn't see that part. The way he's hitting, he'll be back in Toledo in a few days.

7-3 final.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

The only Tiger that ever could have pulled that off was Ty Cobb. And he's been gone for over 50 years.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 9: The Carlos Guillen edition

Well, at least nobody got flipped off tonight. So there's that, I guess.

Khrys Davis almost hit the Al Kaline statue. That was a shot.
