Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Had to lose one to Minnesota eventually, and I prefer it not be tomorrow afternoon since I've got tickets.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I guess I didn't expect to win the season series 18-0, but it sure does suck to lose to the Twins.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Nearly all of the Royals losses this year are to the Twins. So we both help and hurt the Tigers. :)

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Not a good inning for the Twinks. Two solo shots and a two run inside the park HR for McCann. *sigh*

MCCANN!!

7-7, top 6

1st career homer for McCann.

Inside the park homer.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Do inside the parkers get the homer light?

Edit: Nevermind, you beat my question with the answer by seconds.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

This game has been so *d up that yeah, there's a homer light, especially since it's his first.

And now we steal 2nd where the Twins don't cover 2nd.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

With all the hits from Romine, I wonder if he will go in to the line up somewhere and victor will take a seat for a while.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I don't think I'd replace Victor with Romine, but I'd be mighty tempted to DL him and go get Tyler Collins.

I think I'm now like 6-0 at Tigers-Twins games since Game 163. Still doesn't feel even, but yesterday was fun. Miggy hit a ball somewhere I've never seen someone hit it to in Target Field. Twice.

I haven't watched as many games, but I wouldn't worry about Victor. Even going 0-fer yesterday, he didn't look that far off. He had a double slice just foul, hit one on the screws right at the third baseman, and fouled a couple straight back. He missed spring training and it's going to take him some time to get into rhythm. He did it last year and he'll probably do it again this year. I'd rather him ready for the fall than have him mash in April and be done by the end of the season.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Royals vs Tigers is making me excited about the AL Central race this year.

Before the season everyone was talking 4 team race, but i think its clear already where the real race is.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

There's a guy behind the place with a tiger-striped suit jacket. He looks ridiculous.

BTW, we're down 4-1 in the 8th.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

That's a Mickey Mouse interpretation of the rule book there.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

90 pitches thru 8 for Price. Darn right I send him out to start the 9th to pitch until further notice.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Missed it. What happened?

Gose went to 2nd on an attempted steal on what turned out to be a fly-out to CF. He touched 2nd on a slide, and retouched it. His right foot was on the 3rd base side, pointed toward 1st base, headed back to 1st. The ruling was that the foot towards 3rd base was an attempt towards third, and ruled that he needed to touch 2nd base again. They called him out.

That's a Mickey Mouse interpretation, especially after a pick-off throw went to 1st base when the 1st baseman was clearly not holding Gose on the bag (both the 1st baseman's feet were at least 5 feet from the bag), right before the fly-out. That should have been a balk. Either call them both, or call none. I don't care which.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

I'm trying to figure out how that ruling makes any sense. That sounds like baseball's version of completing the process.
