Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

The only thing Jeff Jones should be going to the mound for is to find out what Ricky wants for dinner in the postgame spread.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Well Porcello sure didn't look very good and the hitters remain mostly silent. With Mercedes in it could get real ugly.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Well, they haven't seen Mercedes yet, so there's that. Other than that, mix in some horrific defense early on, and you're dead accurate.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Oh, and we get to face King Felix tomorrow, even if David Price is pitching. Yippee.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

It could be worse. That's small enough you have to look closely to find it, it's not like we misspelled his name on 20k tshirts like the Rockies did with Tulowitzki.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Legendary Lloyd is going bye-bye soon. I'm amazed he hasn't been run yet.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

This is a tinderbox waiting for the spark. The Mariners are NOT happy with Randazo.

4-2 final.

Price was pretty darn sharp tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

A whole lot of transactions last night.

DFA'd Whelan
Sent Mercedes back to Toledo
Johnson is coming up. I'm not exactly sure where this guy came from. He was in Oakland just a month ago. Maybe I missed the news of a minor league signing.

Playoff picture is certainly changing now. We're a half game behind KC, we're a half game up on Seattle, and now the Angels have overtaken the Athletics for the lead in the West. That great pitcher's duel everyone clamored about at the trade deadline could end up being a one game wild card play-off.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Apparently we're pursuing Cuban defector Rusney Castillo. Five tool CF. He could replace Carrera if need be, but would need a couple weeks in the minors first. Plus he hasn't received a work visa yet which he needs by August 31 to be on the official roster.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Right now we need all the help we can get. 4-0 Rays in the 3rd. I'm going back to the LLWS.

'14 Tigers starting to remind me of '12 Rangers: should have won it all the previous year, then looked physically/mentally tired next year.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

He may have a point. You know, Jon Morosi used to cover this team for the Freep.

J.D.!!

5-4, top 8.

Now, then. How do we get home from here?
