Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Did I just witness a 4-pitch inning? Did we really run up a 32-pitch 1st inning on Buehrle, and then swing from our asses at everything near the plate in the 2nd?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Ausmus ejected because Castellanos and Alex Crippledick took called 3rd strikes on close calls, and now everybody's butthurt.

The Tigers have absosmurfly NO right whatsoever to be *****ing after a couple of the called 3rds that Price got. Swing the god****ed bat with 2 strikes on close pitches.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Ausmus didn't want to make a bp decision, so he got himself tossed.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Well played. :D

Billy Martin burned an entire rotation up in Oakland in the early 80's because he didn't trust his bullpen.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Oh boy. I hope stranding those runners in the early innings doesn't come back to bite us, even though it was 5-0.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

And by the grace of God, he got through the 8th, too.

Now what?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Swing. The. Bat.

He's been ringing people up all day.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

All right. In what manner do we blow this one?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

**** me. This chicken**** bullpen is ridiculous.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Let's just let Bautista hit one about 4 miles and be done with it.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

No pen left, extra innings. Giving up the bomb would at least end it quickly.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Is McCoy still available? If not, either Don Kelly or Romine will need to pitch if this game goes any longer, which would forfeit the DH because we would need to bring VMart into the field. Lamont will need to come up with some interesting configurations if this thing goes 13.

McCoy and Nathan is it for the pen

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Nathan has had a big workload the last two days, though. They might keep him sitting just because.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

I wish Danny Worth was here.

I almost posted that times like this are when we miss Danny Worth's perpetual knuckleball, but I didn't want to get laughed out of the building.

I thought Romine was out live, and that looks to be what they found. If he had just kept going back to first he would've been fine.
