Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

You know, if all we're gonna do is get 1 run on 5 hits all series long, I'm not even going to be mad at Verlander for giving up a couple bombs. Don Drysdale couldn't win this run support.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

What in the blue **** is it with us swinging from our asscheeks at 3-0?!?!?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Teixeira is going to be safe. We're not out of this inning yet.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Hardy had a sub-2.00 ERA. It wasn't a bad call to put him in. But he did make a big mess here in the 8th, and we're not done yet.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Lead now down to 3.5 after a Kansas City win last night.

I'm not really sure how the Yankees are even above .500 this year given they only have one Opening Day starter left on the roster.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

One run the last two games. Six for the entire four games series.

Also have mixed feelings on Ausmus in the last inning.

Pinch hit Miggy for JD in the 9th with first and second, no outs. Double play results.
Thought he should have had JD sac bunt to make it second and third, one out, then PH Miggy for Donny Baseball, but then that would probably just lead to an intentional walk, which would mean bases loaded, one out for Castellanos. I think I still like that better than giving Don Kelly a pass/fail scenario.

Either way it shouldn't come down to that. One run the last two games, in one of the most offensive prone ballparks in the league. Which, going off on a tangent now, I'm going to call BS on ESPN's Park Factor ratings because their least hitter-friendly parks according to that metric include Camden, Yankee, and Citizens Bank, which are known as some of the most hitter-friendly.

1-0 loss today. Tony Gwynn is spinning in his grave after that display of hitting.

Get used to it. Miggy is not Miggy, Kinsler hit a wall about game 60 and they traded away their best hitter in the month of July.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

3 rookies in the (almost) everyday lineup, streaky 3-4-5, wretched bullpen.

What's not to like?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Dear Lord, please take JD out from left field. He's currently 1/5 in fielding balls cleanly, including forgetting to close his glove on a catch.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

If this team survives to the playoffs, Sanchez goes to the pen. Dude couldn't make it 5.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Sanchez left with an apparent shoulder injury. We may not have to decide which starter goes to the pen.

Our outfield defense is wretched. Carrera is exempted for the moment .

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

I think Al Al might have balked twice there.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Right pec strain for Sanchez.
