Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

There's a whole lot of ball to be played yet.

SUAREZ!

5-1, bottom 4.

1st major league hit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

I'd rather have Scherzer give up the RBI double to Ortiz than whatever Coke was going to do. Now it's up to Al-Al to not give up a bomb-bomb.

7-4, top 7, 2 out.

8-6 final.

Todd Jones Jr. closes it out.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

I'm convinced that no "proven closer" can ever do well in Detroit. If they had kept Benoit instead, he would have the same 8.00 ERA that Nathan has

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Todd Jones Jr. closes it out.
We really do need to go find that save manual of Todd's, run it through a shredder, burn it, and mix the ashes in with some concrete to form blocks, and then drop the blocks out in the Bermuda Triangle.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

I've complained about this before, but Miggy jogging down the line on grounders gets old after awhile, especially when he costs himself a chance to get on base like that. Ball is thrown seven feet up the line yet he gets tagged out because he was half-assing.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

I think Miggy's throw there to catch P-bag in a rundown, killing the inning in the process, made up for his little stroll down the line you referenced.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

Aw, hamburgers.

I had a feeling that was coming when Ortiz stepped in there. I said to myself, "he's gonna club one right here".

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 7: The George Kell edition

All right. Just who the hell is playing the bongos inside the ballpark?!?!?

MIGGY!

2-1 CWS, top 4.

Miggy gonna Miggy. Even on one leg.

Okay, who thought it was a good idea to give JD Martinez roller skates and send him out to LF tonight?

2-2 Tigers, top 5
