Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

This is a homer light test. THIS IS ONLY A TEST:

I also grabbed the homer/goal light and uploaded it to Flickr. :)

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Yeah, and Bonderman has a thumb issue and AL-Al has location issues and Smyly can't get out left handed batters and....

worse yet, our offense has gone south. Good thing we have Seattle, Chicago, Minnesota and Miami to scrap out 7-8 more wins and clinch this thing.

I'm hoping we can outrace Oakland for homefield in the 2-3 ALDS match-up. (Not that it mattered last month.) Let the wildcard take on the Bosox.

KELLY!!

1-0, end 4

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

The rosters have expanded. How in the hell can we be short-handed in the bullpen?

MIGGY!!

2-1, bottom 7

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Wow. Didn't expect Iglesias to kick that.

Knowing that Coke is on the hill, that might cost us 2 runs.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Got bailed out of that one, a couple times over.

6-2 final.

Long game.

Magic number down to 6, pending Cleeeeveland-KC matchup.

Al-Al, Coke and Alvarez did a decent job, although the latter two were walking a tight rope. Had to use Veras unfortunately.

But, to answer your question... I didn't hear when the rosters officially expanded and I don't know who would help us anyway. (Putkonen? Downes?)

Six games to win until they get to rest Miggy. Cleveland came back to win, so we won't be clinching at home unless we sweep the remaining games and/or Cleveland drops a couple. (I think they play Houston after KC.) Tigers can max out at 99 wins if they win them all. 95 wins would be nice and overtaking Oakland would be the carrot to do it. 88 wins ties last season's mark, too.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Wrap yesterday's fish in newspaper. Silver lining, KC did their job and the magic number is 5.

Four games left at home (Seattle, CWS) and and six on the road: Minn and Miami.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

If the season had ended last night, the Red Sox would get the winner of the wild card game and the Tigers would be traveling to Oakland.

Is that right?

If so, I do not like that scenario for Detroit if that's how it turns out 10 games from now.

And, what do you all think about Jhonny Peralta out in left field?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Gotta get some production out of LF one way or another.

Now New Coke has been shut down due to a tender elbow.
