Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Tigers reacquire Francisco Martinez from Seattle. He was part of the Fister trade. To make room on the 40-man roster, they DFA'd Quintin Berry. He was hitting .168 in Toledo this year.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Jhonny Peralta was named on MLB's list of people linked to Biogenesis.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Yeah, I've kept my eye on that story this evening.

I see one hell of lawsuit brewing if MLB tries to suspend those players. Depends on the CBA wording.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

If we've got to go to the minors to get a SS....

Danny Worth is hitting .136 this year in Toledo
Argenis Dias is at .238

Hernan Perez is hitting. 305 in Erie

Maybe it's the Hernan Perez show if Jhonny has to go away for a while.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Last night the indians were in ny and got squeezed big time. It got so bad that by the end of the game the players were shouting at the umpires based on a foul ball call and the normally placid Francona had to be held back.He followed the umps at the end of the game all the way to the tunnel.

It wasn't the foul ball call, it was all the marginal balls and strikes, the marginal out's at first, and the general tilting of the field toward the yankees all game long. If I was the Indians I'd be really po'ed as well. Umps ought to be embarrassed, but it's SOP in NY.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Pirates @ Braves:

Guess who broke up Julio Teheran's no-hitter in the 8th inning today?

Brandon Inge.

Pirates 0 : 5 Braves

I've noticed Garcia getting a lot more playing time and his average coming up. Good for him.

And guess who was the second half of back-to-back homers?

Gerald "I Couldn't Hit Lake Huron If I Fell Out Of A Boat With Three Chances" Laird.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

And we're bunting in front of Miggy. Unless we're trying to stay out of the double play...............why?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

So are the Tigers just trying to make it look competitive till the All-Star break?

There should not be a sentence in June (of this season) that includes the word Twins and 5 games (or less) back of first place.

Right, the Royals, in 5th place, are only 6.5 back right now--that's nothing.

If the Tigers lose Peralta for 50 games, how much is that going to hurt them?

Last night: what a loss for Mister Fister after 8 scoreless innings.

From a 10 - 1 win, to a 6 hit 0 - 3 loss.

You guys know better than me, what kind of adjustments do the Tigers need to make, if any?

Rays 2 : 5 Tigers

I guess the adjustment is having Max pitch. Now with an 8 - 0 record.

9 hits total between Cabby, Prince, Victor (3 RBI) & Jhonny.
