CABRERA!!!

1-0, three batters in.

All together now: Miggy. Gonna. Miggy.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Rod and Mario are talking about a guy with a 5.54 ERA and 27 bombs allowed, and they're highlighting his lack of run support.

I didn't realize Nate Robertson was in an Oriole uniform.

You watch. This guy is going to throw a 4-hitter.

2 through 4 so far.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Fireworks. Umpire overruled at 1B and then half of Baltimore goes bat****.

I thought he was off the base, but Buck Showalter was asking for this in the first inning.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Wow, the initial call on the field was good even though it looked wrong, and now it's overturned. Like Mario and Rod said, where was this when Galarraga was pitching?

FIELDER!!!

3-3, bottom 6

Jesus Christ with some chicken tenders. That one almost hit Ford Field.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Okay. Seriously. If we were still playing in Tiger Stadium, that moon shot would have landed in the upper deck of the center field bleachers. That was ridiculous.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Verlander didn't Verlander tonight. Done after 6, with 116 pitches, but a no decision.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

ALERT!

Benoit just made it through an inning without letting one leave the stadium.

FIELDER - 2!!!

5-3 Tigers, bottom 8.

That one almost brought down some aircraft.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I'd just like to point out that earlier this week, the Twins TV PBP guy said Prince Fielder gets paid what he does because of his ability to slap singles to the opposite field. That's the level of ****ing idiocy we deal with out here.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I was at that game and Fielder's shots were both huge. I thought at first the second completely left the park out there by the pepsi porch. It was so high in the air it was maybe double the height of the foul pole. mammoth. Really did look like Reynolds was off the bag.
Too bad about Porcello. He pitched well. Very unfortunate.

Checking in from today's game. I'm just going to assume everyone wearing orange is an Orioles fan, in which case there are more than I expected. Go O's!

PERALTA!!!

4-0, bottom 1, 1 out.

I am mildly surprised. We got the solo shot out of Omar, then the next two big guns got on. Usually at that point we're done for the day.
