Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I want to start the magic number count again, but when I started at the beginning of the season they tanked about 10 games in.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

At the Mud Hens game as we speak. Hens lose 7-6. Andy Dirks went 1-3 in the first game of his rehab.

No more bats left here, and Ortega capped off a craptacular night of pitching by giving up a 3-run shot in the 8th.

TRADE!

Annibal Sanchez and Omar Infante to the Tigers. Looks like Jacob Turner and Delmon Young to Florida.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Bye Jacob! Thanks for the unknown farewell win.

Peter Gammons ‏@pgammo
1st draft pick deal:A Sanchez, Infante and comp balance pick for Jacob Turner, Rob Brantly, , Brian Flynn and Det. comp pick. Fascinating

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

That trade is per Jon Paul Morosi, a decent source, even though he's a doofus at times.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I put this on Mgoblog, but I'll put it here, too:

There has to be another move here. We've got 2 coming onto our MLB roster (Sanchez & Infante), and only one leaving (Turner).

I'm guessing Danny Worth to Toledo is the other move.

EDIT: Just realized that would leave Detroit with 41 players on the 40-man roster, so somebody will need to be designated for assignment. Not really an obvious candidate for that other than Raburn.

Hopefully it's Ryan Raburn to a deserted island. Any island will do.

Ichiro might be a Yankee, too.

Thad Weber or Kelvin De La Cruz are also options, whoever TF those people are. Worth to Toledo and one of those two, I'd guess.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Thad Weber pitched, or did something that resembled pitching, for an inning for the Tigers a couple months ago. The infield is still smoldering as a result.

That's it--Kelvin De La Cruz was designated for assignment to get the 40-man roster back to 40. Presumably Danny Worth is optioned to Toledo as soon as Sanchez and Infante step off the plane.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Can we still ship Ryan Raburn to Abu Dhabi?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Will Infante be in the line up tonight? I read that "Infante is hitting .327 in 29 games at Cleveland."

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Worth back to Toledo. No surprise. I still suspect that Raburn's days in Detroit are numbered.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

What in the world is going on with the fan noise? It sounds like they put in the cheering equivalent of a laugh track and sent it over the air.
