Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

This is from a random online article written in early January about the 2011 season that I just found:

The #2 spot in the order was a revolving door. Brennan Boesch, Andy Dirks, Don Kelly, Ryan Raburn, Ramon Santiago, Magglio Ordonez, and even Will Rhymes all saw substantial at-bats from the 2-hole. Gone were the days of the consistent comfort of a Placido Polanco-type professional hitter getting the job done day in and day out.

Oh for the days of Placido Planco - a second baseman and someone who could hit!

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Hmmmph. Damon never did anything like that when he was here.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Since Delmon is starting to hit better, I'd put him in the #2 hole. I don't care about righty-lefty-righty crap. That stuff is out the door when we're 16-27 over the last two months.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Too bad we have a manager that only cares about Right vs. Left and thinks OBP is a "geek stat"

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

*nods head*

I've just about had a belly full of all of it. This team isn't doing anything correctly.

KELLY!!!

3-1 Tribe, bottom 3

1st XBH of the year for Don Kelly.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Was that an f-bomb I just read on Max's lips as he came off the field?

Edit: Let's just say the Tribe sweeps this series. Is someone going to read the riot act to this team or are they professionals and can't be talked to like that?

CABRERA!!!

5-2 Tribe, bottom 4

The only reason there's a homer light here is because it's Cabrera. I'm too ****ed off at the rest of this merry bunch of derelicts.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

At least Cabrera knows how to make a statement!

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Boesch makes up for his defensive blunder with a resounding -6 inch ground out.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

If it was possible to hit a fair ball backwards, he probably managed to do it.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Can this team sustain any momentum? Kelly hits a homer and the next two hitters peter-out. Cabrera hits a HR and then nothing.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

They haven't had momentum since last October.

Rod just said that they have 58 HR this season. 35 of them are solo-shots.

He kind of did. It hit right the dirt right in front of the plate and rolled back onto it. From the camera angel it looked like it may have actually gone behind the contact point.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

We're handing out IBBs to load the bases when it's already 6-2. Oh boy.

Boesch's hit looked like and what you just described sounds like a metaphor for the current state of the Tigers!

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I've had enough. I've been avoiding reading lately. I'm going to bed to read.

Rally caps anyone!?!?
