Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I got the feeling that Verlander's streak of 6 innings/start is going to end tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

We don't need more shots of this asshat behind the plate waving Red Sox players to the dugout after a strikeout.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

This is going to be a safety issue here, shortly. They're going to have to put the tarp on the field after this inning.......right?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I guess not.

Maybe the tarp comes out after this half inning, when the game becomes official. How convenient....

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

And Jackson gets one rammed in the pooper at 2nd.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

If they put the tarp on the field now, it's game over.

EDIT: And it's tarp time.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Thanks, hon. Hope you get home safely and you're able to dry off sometime before tomorrow morning.

Verlander's 6-inning streak is over.

Oh, I left after the 4th. :) Too cold and gross.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

If I'm Jim Leyland, I'm filing a protest or something. You can't call the game in that situation. If it's like 7-1, then call it. However, it's not right at all.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

It was pouring. It wasn't going to let up. It's probably still raining there now.

The game is official when 5 innings are completed, or 4 1/2 if the home team is ahead. We were in the 6th. Since the home team did not bat, and the top of the 6th had not yet been completed, I believe that the top of the 6th is stricken from the books.

They were well within the rules to call this one. There is nothing to protest.

We had 5 innings to do our damage, and in one inning we left the bases loaded, and left 2 more on in another.

That umpire is an ********, regardless of whether he followed the rules. That crap should have been called in about the 3rd inning, and instead quite legally waits until the Tigers have loaded the bases in a 3 run game because "Oh crap, if they get another hit here, I'm going to have a hell of a time calling this game in an hour when I want to go home." He was literally one swing away from being this week's outrage in umpiring and realized it. "We erased the top of the 6th per the rule book. Not 4-4 anymore. Boston wins 4-1.
He can go eat a bag of d<s></s>icks for all I care.

FIELDER!!

6-1 Tigers, top 5

A shot to dead-center off the top wall and over.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

If we can rely on those two guys for the rest of the season we may end up somewhere.

Don't know where that somewhere may be yet though.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

They've done their jobs all year, for the most part. It's the rest of the lineup that is the issue.

If we've got to rely on them and nothing else, then you're right, we will finish somewhere: third place.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Way to step out on that limb there .....

I'll give him this: it's more intelligent than some of the stuff I come up with when I get good and ****ed off at this team.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Aw, hell. Bases loaded. Impending doom.
