Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I said it before in the Lodge, and I will say it again here. If I ever get the bright idea to propose at a baseball game, beat me senseless with a shovel.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Well you gotta propose someplace, but getting married at a game like a tigers or red wings game, now that's the bee's knees there don't cha know.;)

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Folks, that right there is why you DON'T dive in 1st headfirst. If he runs through that he's probably safe.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Jesus H. Christ. Just about the only way we could have botched that worse is if Valverde had lobbed the ball into the upper deck.

Put your helmet on. There's going to be a wreck.

CARGO!!!

**** it. If we're giving 7 runs in the 10th inning, started by us ****ing up a sacrifice, you bet your butt I'm getting the homer light out. Besides, did you see how far that went?

11-4 Rockies, top 10.

CUDDYER!!!

Two pitches later, guess what?

12-4 Rockies, top 10.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

8 runs in the 10th. Good grief.

A crackwhore in spandex near Cass Corridor isn't as ugly as that inning.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

You know, usually I'd be unhappy about Worth swinging at a ball that bounced in the other batter's box, but at 12-4 in the 10th, it doesn't really matter much, does it?

A while ago I wanted to see more of Worth in the lineup, just to find out what we have in him. Sadly, I think we're finding out.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Game over. You know how it turned out.

Now hopefully we find out about the roster move to get Fister back.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Per Tony Paul, Detroit News. Roster moves:

Casey Crosby and Matt Young back to Toledo.
Doug Fister activated. Thad Weber called up.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Leyland's thinking is again giving me a migraine. Apparently Benoit, Villareal and Valverde are all getting today off for a "scheduled day of rest"

Because, you know, going with a shortened bullpen when your starter is coming off the DL always makes sense. If he needed to give some of those guys a day off from any kind of throwing, why the hell didn't he do it Thursday, when Verlander was pitching and 8 times out of 10, the bullpen gets an inning if that?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Jacob Turner will start in Crosby's place on Thursday against the Cards.

If Turner can come in and pitch well, and Fister can stay healthy, I think we may be looking at this as the turning point in the Tigers' season.

I'll be at that game, so I hope to see a good one against the Cards and Kyle Lohse (6-2, 2.98).

If Turner can come in and pitch well, and Fister can stay healthy, I think we may be looking at this as the turning point in the Tigers' season.

I don't know about that, but how about QB going 5 for 5, Lard 3 for 4, Ramon with 2 ribbies, and Max a SO and 12 Ks in today's game?!?!

Maybe things are turning...

I find it to be Adam Sandler-ish, too. ;)

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

I doubt Turner will pitch well, but he's going to pitch regardless. BTW I like Leyland and though some things don't always make sense to me, I figure he knows a heck of a lot more about things than I do.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 3 - The Alan Trammell version

Jackson bails our butt out with 1 out and the bases juiced. Gump popped out on a 3-1 pitch with 0 out right before. This had inning-ending GIDP written all over it, and that probably would have been fatal, if not for Jackson.

3-0, bottom 2.

6-3 final.

Coke with the save. Valverde injured warming up. Details to come, I guess.
