Detroit Lions 2016: I'm Bad, And That's Good.

They're really, really desperate at TE right now. The top 3 TE's are injured. You're essentially down to rookies and practice squad guys. There's nobody else out there.

I was wondering if they would take another look at Joseph Fauria, the big kid from UCLA we had a couple years ago that liked to dance in the end zone and not much else. But Quinn had him in New England last year and they cut him in December, so I guess that is that.

Oh yes, I remember him... the same guy who rolled his ankle taking his dog out to pee. That was the same year Nate Burleson broke his arm protecting a pizza.

By my recollection, this is what's happened in Detroit since the Lions appeared in the 1991 NFC Championship game, and maybe Hammer or someone with a sharper memory can correct me if I'm wrong:

The Tigers have gone from bottom feeder to pennant winner back to bottom feeder to pennant winner....

The Pistons have won 1 NBA title, and were in contention in the East for quite a while, at least under Larry Brown and Flip Saunders.

And the Red Wings have won a few Stanley Cups and at least been in the playoffs every year.

With about 12:00 to play in the 2nd, it's 7-0 Lions. Lions are showing that they can run the ball.

And Abdullah is showing that he can hang on to the football.

Colts get 6 on a drive where Hilton gets the call that Calvin never did.

A real NFL team would take a 21-3 1st half lead and stroll to a 41-16 win.

Obviously going for ratings. It was an interesting ending- especially when we saw the same old Lions- including the receivers who refused to step out of bounds to stop the clock- in hindsight, that was pretty funny.

But I can't imagine how they pulled that off.
