Detroit Lions 2011: If I slip and fall, I can Suh and get a Fairley large settlement

Hammer

We'll be back.
Just ask the derelicts they put in the Call Sam commercials. One dude is so big he doesn't have a neck, presumably because he dunked it in ranch dressing and ate it. Another woman can barely speak English and can barely read cue cards. Maybe if she took the waffles out of her mouth we could understand what she's trying to say.

Not my best thread title, but this is what I came up with for the season.

Fairley left today's practice with a banged up foot. Backus and Cherilus are not practicing. I still think we're a LB and a CB short on defense, and I'm not a fan of our O-line at all. Rob Sims is fine, but we've still got an undersized midget playing center, Steven Peterless at the other guard, and our starting tackles aren't practicing.

Let training camp begin. I may have to conjure up a Giant Lion to go alongside Giant Tiger for each win.

There's some serious insanity on talk radio lately. "Win at home, split on the road"

This is the NFL, people, not CCHA hockey (RIP)

I'd say 7-10 wins is the spread. Stafford's health, and how this team learns to win are the questions. Schedule isn't doing any favors.

I think that's about right. I'm guessing towards the low end of that. There's no reason this team shouldn't at least be in the conversation about the playoffs. Whether they actually get there is an entirely different animal altogether. This team's got some big holes yet. And anyone who thinks Fairley is going to be another Suh either 1) has been drinking or 2) wasn't paying attention in the first place.

A few of the local nuts today were already talking Superbowl.

I'd expect to see them at the bottom of the playoff listings you see on ESPN in weeks 12-15.

With all of the questions the Lions still have at important places, QB, Oline, and in the secondary, I would be happy I think with being about a game out of the playoffs. Hell, I know I'll change my opinion on that once theyre in the home stretch. But as how things stand now, I would take that.

That banged-up foot turned out to be a small fracture & Fairley will miss 3-4 weeks after having surgery on it today.

8-8 will be a great season for the Lions considering the schedule. I don't buy the playoff talk at all. The NFC North is stupid tough, and the out of division games are nasty too. A 6 win season is much more likely.

I'm pretty sure you have time to find just the right photo for that 1 win! ;) :D

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Giant Lion.

They didn't make the lion big enough.

They didn't make the lion big enough.

Not only that, the MGM lion is a female. Rory wouldn't like that, even if her name was Rosie O'Donnell.

Lions: 8-8 would be a good season considering the deficit on the O-line, the uncertainty of the QB staying healthy and the pass defense, more specifically, the corners and outside LB's. I like Schwartz, but his game management is still a liability at times. This doesn't even consider injuries at other positions, including placekicking- where Jason Lidstrom is trying to make it for his 20th season.

Apparently not.

Besides, with our OL, he would have been on IR by week 6 anyway. We've got 3 tackles hurt now, one decent guard, one named Peterman, and an undersized midget at center.

At this rate, we're really going to have to rely on our Defense to put points on the board for us. Is Suh fast enough to take the other team's handoff??

Re: Detroit Lions 2011: If I slip and fall, I can Suh and get a Fairley large settle

I dunno, but he can't continue to try to twist the QB's head off like it's a Bud Light bottle cap. Even if it is the preseason.

Re: Detroit Lions 2011: If I slip and fall, I can Suh and get a Fairley large settle

Mr. Hill, if it's all the same to you, I'd much prefer that you don't try to concuss yourself diving into the end zone in the 2nd quarter of the 1st preseason game.
