Re: Denver hosts Bemidji State, Nov. 19th & 20th
This I concur with....and all Teabaggin' (except in my private bedroom, with a hottie of the female persuasion) should disappear, just for the sake of an appearance of a slight bit of unity in our country.
So, anyhow, what should we expect out of the Beavers? Most DU fans, myself included, don't know much except we got a scare in '05, your coach is our former coach's brother and our former player Anders Bjork had a brother who showed up there for a year as an aberration of a 23 year old freshman with like 1 year of eligibility.
LOL!!! Like your Teabaggers situation!!!! But yes, they are becoming a very polarizing voice in politics with no vision of compromise. And the Lemmings that are buying into it, yikes......
For the Beavers, our first line of Read, George and Lowe have been carrying the team. All of them are averaging one or more points a game on the season, along with D-man Brad Hunt. Up until last weekend against UAA, there were very few Beavers that had stepped into the scoring column. That changed a little bit against the Seawolves and hopefully they can continue.
Goaltending right now is on a rotation basis. Junior Dan Bakala lost 5-4 to UAA, while Mathieu Dugas pitched a 4-0 shutout win. Bakala has a win against SCSU (3-2 OT) and Dugas has a win (UAA) and a tie (UMD 1-1) on their records. Dugas is to get the start tonight.
BSU needs to stay out of the penalty box. 12 of the 25 goals given up have been power play goals. On the flip side, BSU lost their top penalty killers to graduation or injury (in Ben Kinne's case), so they are still gelling as a unit. They are getting better, killing off 8 PP in their 3-2 OT win at SCSU and 5 PP chances in their shutout of UAA.
BSU has not really changed their style of play since the '05 game. They have been able to open it up more as the talent level increased, but they will forecheck hard and be in your face and try to outwork you along the walls and in the corners. You could see UAA get frustrated on Saturday night,
Looking forward to the games this weekend, hopefully I can get a chance to listen to them. With an 8:30 start time tonight and the kids being up at 4:00 this morning, it already feels like a long day.
