Denver at UAA - Saturday 12/11/10

Re: Denver at UAA - Saturday 12/11/10

We played very well and I think pulling 3 of 4 points is a great result. I'm sure Donald will once again be sad and UAA was ripped by the boys in the black and white striped shirts. But, that is the life he chooses to live. Now, we have a good break to let the boys heal up especially Beau Bennett. We will need him as DU takes on NMU sans Zucker and M. Donovan. We should be fine, but those games against NMU are HUGE with pairwise.

Always good to get 3 points on the road. My prediction for the 2nd 10 games of the season was 8-2-0 and DU ended up 8-1-1. Very good first half for DU now the boys need to at least replicate the 1st half in the 2nd half. The schedule on paper appears to be easier but the games all have to be played. This is the first road series of the year that we had no major injuries. UVM; Nick Shore's broken wrist, UND; Jesse Martin's broken neck, UMD; Beau Bennett's knee sprain.

It really speaks to the other's who have stepped up their play. John Rider is one to me that has stepped up in a HUMUNGUS way. Not ever really on the score sheet, but he is my "quiet" MVP. MVP's unfortunately come from scoring stats, but he's been the Adam Foote of this team. Hard hitting, dependable, good decisions, are great attribrutes of a stay-at-home defenseman.

He and Dusty Jackson are 2 key players and we are going to need them in the 2nd half. Gwoz is very happy with the team and what they have accomplished so far this season. He is expecting a big 2nd half. The team has 2 weeks off and returns to practice the day after Christmas. Alaskans Adam Murray, William Wrenn and David Carle will stay in Alaska while the rest of the team travels back to Denver tomorrow where they will disperse for the Christmas break.

DU is #7 in PWR after tonight and UMD/MN and UND/MSUM games that were cancelled tonight will be played tomorrow. DU could see some additional movement in PWR depending on the outcome of those games. DU tied for 1st in WCHA with UND but that could change with a UND win or tie tomorrow or a UMD win. If UND loses and UMD ties, there will be a 3-way tie for 1st.

Yeah, bro, the games postponed in the TC's have HUGE impact. Not only Goldy and Duluth, but Landcows and the Fighting Snausages. More college hockey to follow...

And, as an aside, that IDIOT who argued to me about Poutine on the Bacher blog, is WRONG. LOL. Pig ****er. :)

When Wayne Gretzky and Don Cherry say what Poutine is, the ****er is wrong. LOL.

Euclid Hall in Larimer Square has Denver's best poutine. They add funny things to it, like duck, or braised short ribs, but it's delish.
