Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

Is "voting for a winner" a factor? Has that ever been studied? People voting for who they think will win so they can say they were right? The more steam Biden picks up does that influence other on the fence voters?

If you believe some of the pundits tonight that is what is helping Biden. The early votes showed better for Sanders but the same day voting (post South Carolina early voting too) is trending HARD for Biden.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

CNN gossip says: (1) Warren confided to a friend she sees no path forward. Suggests maybe she will drop out, contrary to her fundraising memo (which after all might have just been on a clock release). (2) Bloomberg's knows it's over and quote doesn't want to do anything to help Sanders unquote. He really, really does not want to pay taxes. I think everything points to him dropping out and immediately endorsing Biden.

The fascinating thing is that Warren may have saved Biden by murdering Bloomberg on live national television.

Joy Reid just said the same thing about Warren killing Bloomberg.

I stopped watching CNN when Terry McAulliffe was spouting verbal diarrhea all over the place 3 hours ago. I like a few of the people on that station but I dont need to watch a 12 personal panel circle jerk...

Texas is within 450 votes

Third scenario: Biden pulled off a true red wedding and got Warren to stay in until after Super Tuesday the same night he got Amy, Pete, and Beto.

All of these candidates get ripped apart for various things. If you are coming at it from it only happened because she was a woman I reject that entirely.

Oh boy I would have to disagree there. HC was properly maligned.

There were legitimate reasons to criticize Hillary Clinton. The ways in which she was attacked were bullsh-t. Benghazi was a paranoid whackjob fantasy. Buttery Mails was an offense so minor Dump's entire staff literally has done worse things every day of their administration. 98% of what Hillary faced was pure slime by people who knew it was slime and were just feeding nuts in their base. And add Putin to all that, and Comey's incompetence. Please, don't defend the people who launched that coordinated smear campaign. They were 100x more gross than she on her worst day.

I'm not here to rehash 2016, but let's just say that Hillary definitely ran a bad campaign. That does not make her the monster the right spent 25+ years tricking half the country into thinking she was.

I don't think Warren plays that way. I could be naive.

This.

I ended up voting for Bernie, but it is not what I had planned

I had convinced myself I was voting for Biden while I was driving to go vote. I talked with a bunch of independents and embarrassed republicans. All were comfortable voting for Biden to get rid of Trump but couldn't say the same for Bernie. I talked with democrats. Some favored Warren, Bernie, or Pete but would vote for Biden if their candidate lost. Others favored Biden.

Biden was not my first choice, but defeating Trump is the most important thing so I was going to vote for him.

I was not convinced Bernie is the strongest candidate in the general and I don’t think he’ll be very successful implementing his policies.

I hate the Bernie Bros.

But in the end I made a symbolic vote for Bernie anyway because I wish America was more democratic socialist. I literally had my pen over the Biden bubble and changed my mind at the last second.

Now that that’s done, I hope support consolidates around one candidate and we can move on and focus on Trump.

You just described me voting for Ventura over Coleman in the MN election years ago. While I don't agree with you on this particular decision, I completely understand how you feel.

Speaking of Comey, maybe his endorsement of Biden was the game changer!

Umm, proofreading.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

Seeing Biden on stage tonight, I am having a hard time seeing him beating Trump. Still think Biden is a better option than Sanders in that regard. No idea what people are predicting for the general election but I can't say I am all that confident.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

Maybe. But Bernie won Minnesota by 23 last time. He lost it by 10 today.

And MN is closer to the demo we need to win in MI-WI-PA. Yes, that is true. OK, I concede the point.

I'll put it this way: it is more shocking to me than MN.
