Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Elliot giving relationship advice is like Stevie Wonder telling someone how to drive a race car.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

This could be, what, the 2nd crew in as many years to walk off of Elliot's boat? Sooner or later word's going to get around.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

That is ridiculous. They treated Dane like crap. He did not deserve the treatment they gave him.

Additional thoughts: 1) After this, Kieth should not even be allowed to have greenhorns on this boat. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt at first but after watching last weeks episode again and this weeks episode, Dane did nothing wrong and did not deserve the treatment he got. 2) Who's hand was that that looked all messed up!!?!?!?

Maybe so, but a good deal of that was self-inflicted by his actions. Not getting the haircut, silly as it sounds, and hitting Freddie, of all people, from behind, was his own doing.

Not getting the haircut was silly sure. But it didnt deserve the level of hatred they threw his way. Sure, as I had stated earlier greenhorns are going to take crap but this time it seemed like they just went to far. Yes, attacking Freddie was wrong, but I think Dane thought either he had to attack Freddie first or Freddie was going to attack him. And with the awful track record the Wizard has at treating greenhorns I am no longer willing to give them any benefit of the doubt.

I guess we will see this differently.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

There's got to be much more than what we're seeing, as usual. I highly doubt that this is all over a haircut.

And the next greenhorn the Wizard treats well will be the first.

It will be interesting to see if they address it on any of the behind the scenes shows or if anyone tries to get both complete sides of the story.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Oh, there's definitely a conversation coming about this after the season. Make no mistake. Now, whether they show more than one side to the story remains to be seen.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Well I think what made it look worse was Freddy flat out saying "I am going to be on his *** all trip" and making it a point to make his life miserable. Say what you will, Freddy was looking for a fight...

I wonder what happens with Jake Anderson...there is no way he can stay on the Kiska Sea from what I saw last week those guys hate him! I say he should beat up Elliot and take his boat because that dude is dangerous!

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

I have only seen the opening bit, but it seems to me Freddy's goal since day one has been to make this kid quit (he even says as much to him) and Keith's reaction to all of it is to laugh. Maybe it's just the coach in me, but that doesn't seem to be the way to foster teamwork. You're supposed to be a team going out to catch crab and make money...your goal should be to pick each other up. If I have a team and we have a rookie coming in, I am looking to veterans like Freddy (and especially Monte) to integrate the kid into the team. I do not expect my veterans to make life so difficult for the kid he decides to quit. If I see this crap coming from my veterans it's my job as coach to step in and tell the guys to lighten up. I have a feeling Keith has never said a word to change the behavior of his veterans. At this point if Keith is looking for a reason why he keeps getting greenhorns that can't even make it through a season without quitting or getting themselves fired he only needs to look in a mirror.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Even worse, Lenny mouths off to Monte and somehow that is Dane's fault too. Keith sucks :D

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

I hope the kid lawyers up, love to see Keith squirm, he probably ruined that by smacking Freddy though

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Too bad there is no After the Catch...would love to see the kid at a table with Freddy and Keith badmouthing them :D

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Watching the episode again at least for a few minutes. There are other guys on the boat who did not get their heads shaved or hair cut. Why did they not get treated like dirt? I never have liked the Wizard crew (Freddie used to be a good guy when he was on the Cornelia Marie...but then there he had Phil as Captain) and what transpired with that Greenhorn makes me dislike them so so much more.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Yeah. We officially know why the Wizard goes through so many greenhorns. They are complete ******* idiots with them. I don't think Dane is a wimp for quitting at all. Screw those jerks.

Re: Deadliest Catch - Season 7

Ah. Another rendition of "As Elliott Turns". He's a train wreck. Or, in this case, a shipwreck.

This does not belong on the Deadliest Catch. Sorry.
