Dead Thread - 2020

Olivia deHaviland, at 104.

Good night to the last screen queen. Now it's all just Popsicles and insects.

Eddie Shack, long time enforcer and all star D man for the leafs.

Eddie "The Entertainer" - one of the last true characters in the NHL. Was a winger on the 4 Leafs cup teams in the 60s.

There were two of us assigned between the benches at MLG. if Eddie was hanging out at a game after he'd retired we were usually laughing from his stories.

RIP Shackie

John Saxon.

Ouch.

Black Christmas
Tenebrae
Nightmare on Elm Street
Queen of Blood
Blood Beach
Blood Beast from Outer Space (I sense a theme)
The Scorpion with Two Tails
The Arrival
Hellmaster
Cannibals in the Streets
Beyond Evil

and lest we forget...

MITCHELL!

Seriously, thank you for all the bitter but honest cops, white martial arts experts, and mad scientists in niche Italian erotic horror. Fun fact: John Saxon actually starred in a movie (Summer Love) with Fay Wray.

Time is a weird thing. I think I recall reading somewhere that there were a handful of actors in GWtW who were actually born before or during the Civil War. That means that before Olivia died, you could have conversed with someone who worked professionally with someone who had personal recollections of the Civil War.

I see Alan Parker died. That sucks. He directed two of my all-time favorite movies, Midnight Express and Pink Floyd: The Wall, plus a host of other films.

RIP Kamala

AEW and the wrestling world mourn the passing of wrestling legend James “Kamala” Harris, our thoughts are with his family, his friends and his fans.
#RIPKamala

I just saw that Pete Hamill died a couple of days ago. That sucks. I'd be hard pressed to think of anything smoother or more lyrical than Pete Hamill reading aloud a story he wrote.
