Guitarist Dave Roback, probably best known for co-founding Mazzy Star with Hope Sandoval, who had a huge hit with the song Fade Into You, from their second album.
Coming up in what was known as the Paisley Underground scene of southern California in the early 80's, Roback was also a founding member of the highly regarded bands Rain Parade and Opal.
Guitarist Dave Roback, probably best known for co-founding Mazzy Star with Hope Sandoval, who had a huge hit with the song Fade Into You, from their second album.

Lost interest in his later books, as they became more and more formulaic, and really didn't have much interest in the books he collaborated with other writers on, as there were just so many of them, but for a while there, I collected everything he wrote, and was a huge fan. Raise The Titanic was the book that got me into him when I was in high school, and while we know now that the premise is false, it was a great concept for a book.
My personal favorites were the three after that, Vixen 03 and Night Probe, the latter featuring a certain thinly veiled British secret agent, and then Deep Six.
It's a shame they completely botched the film adaptation of Sahara. His books would have made hugely entertaining Hollywood blockbusters
