DC Area Space Shuttle Porn

If you are in the DC area, the Discovery shuttle is flying in today (towed by a 747) for permanent display at Udvar Hazi. It is supposed to circle at a very low attitude for about one hour around 10-11.

Don't either bother driving around Herndon right now, it's a parking lot.

Edit: it just did a flyover over Fairfax Cty. Absolutely amazing -- could not have been more than about 1000 feet.

I gathered as much from the 5 billion pictures people are posting on Facebook. You guys think you're so cool because this is happening while you live there well in my days we had ...um... the Lorenna Bobbitt trial. So yeah, take that.

I should have been looking up while bike riding today. Between 10 and 11, I was heading east on the W&OD through Leesburg and probably reached Ashburn before 11.

The Enterprise finally made it to the deck of the Intrepid yesterday. The NY Post has had some nice pictures in the print edition.
