Dartmouth @ RPI on Friday, March 4

When you're the favorite, you never want to let the underdog hang around.

Unfortunately, that's just what's happening through the first two periods.

We had the better of play that period. Unfortunately they made one mistake and it cost them.
Here we go again. Can we put together another third period like last Friday?

Other playoff scores:
colgate leads Yale 2-1, SLU leads Brown by the same score, and Union and Princeton are tied at 1.

I think they just need to stop pinching their defenseman resulting in the odd man breaks, the defensemen are too slow to get back in the play.

In other RPI sports action, the men's basketball team won its first-round game in the NCAA Division III tournament, defeating Nichols College, 78-58.

Long-time RPI football fans may remember that it was against Nichols that RPI ended its school-record losing streak with a tie in 1964.

Yes I remember.

Yes I remember.

And that could have been a win as we led 20-6 with under 4 minutes to play only to have Nichols score 2 TD's within about 3 minutes to tie with a last second touchdown. Even with a tie we tore the goal posts down!!!!! The first non loss i had seen at RPI in my entire time there. Our first win fianlly then came against Middlebury to end what may have been the longest winless streak up to that time in college football.

True, our lack of team speed has proven to be clear vulnerability over the season. But the first two Dartmouth goals came with our defensmen in correct position along the blue line. Same defensive pairing. Not a great night for those two, unfortunately. I thought RPI played well other than the Dartmouth goals,
