Will be trying to keep up with this game but not from home. Hoping they can get this as video (and if not, audio) when we are out tonight. At least locally hockey get togethers are back to pre restriction days. Odds makers have us as about a 66% favorite in the first game with a predicted most like score of 3-2. All four series seem to be predicted as 1 goal games with the winners in the 60% range for the first game with the closest series involving Union. Personally I am thinking this season's playoffs may hold some of the biggest surprises in some time and I only hope we can play like the favorite and get through this in 2 games and move on.

If we can put forth the same effort we gave last weekend, we will be very tough to beat.
I hope that the players realize that just because we beat them twice in the regular season, we are not assured of victory in the playoffs.

Lets go Red!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure that they realize it, but all it takes is a slight letdown to turn victory into defeat. What they have to remember is DC's early game lead last week despite being outplayed.

Also, cannot allow the officials to change the game to a style that favors an opponent. Whether that is call a tight game or not making certain calls. We have to adapt quickly to however this game is called as soon as we can. Face off control could turn out to be crucial and some of the linesmen this year have had a peculiar way of dropping the puck. There are times we excel with gaining puck control and other games where are simply beaten most times. These teams are all just not that far apart - almost all games are predicted to be in the one goal difference range that falling behind early is just not a situation you want to be in. We are the favorite in this game and this series and we just need to play like we are.
Let's Go Red!!!!!!!!!!

In other RPI sports action, the men's basketball team won its first-round game in the NCAA Division III tournament, defeating Nichols College, 78-58.

Long-time RPI football fans may remember that it was against Nichols that RPI ended its school-record losing streak with a tie in 1964.
