Good luck today against Dartmouth. I know RPI is a better team than what their record indicates. Unfortunately so is Dartmouth. They totally outskated us, outshot us and nearly beat us in December. They tied Northeastern and Vermont, both ranked teams. They play very well on the road.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday 1/24/2014

You know, I just thought of something... depending on how much scoring and penalties are involved, and given Mike Baker is one of the refs I'd imagine a lot of penalties because his rep is for calling games very strict, I may be able to think about what to make post #25,001. :D

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday 1/24/2014

The last RPI....

ECACH game: 13 days (Quinnipiac)
Home Game: 40 days (vs. USA U18)
Home Regular season game: 41 days (Denver)
Home ECACH game: 48 days (Princeton)

All these streaks end tonight. Let's go RED!

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday 1/24/2014

May have to have divided attention once again as the women's team has a big game at Dartmouth that has video coverage (I think). Interesting that before Christmas I was very optimistic about the men's team and a little discouraged about the women's team and things have totally flipped since then. May try to watch both games but that is usually a mistake because you end up not really focused on either.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday 1/24/2014

If we are going to make any kind of move this year, it has to start tonight. If we are not ready for tonight's game, or for any reason looking ahead to tomorrow ( a game that means nothing), we will need to reevaluate the entire season.
Lets come out strong and keep going for 60 minutes. Show the fans what you've got.

lets go red!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting. As a casual fan, I haven't paid much attention to these sorts of things until this season... so I have to ask, is it typical to see a captain in the 4th line?

Just my opinion, but I never thought that Tinordi was anything other than a 3rd or 4th line player. That being said, it doesn't mean that he is not a great leader.

If the captain is a bruiser type that provides energy for the team, why not? Especially considering who he's with (Rogic and DeVito).

Good question. Tinordi is a real grinder...I'm sure that is a big part of the reason he was chosen as captain, to send a message to the team that they will win only by grinding on every shift. Fourth lines are often 'grinder' lines. But still, it is odd to have a 4th line captain. This might be one of the better fourth lines you will see.

Don't forget the second power play unit with Bubs and Diesel (assuming they're still on that).

As of now-i would think we have a lot of 3rd or 4th line players. I am not sure we have much scoring once we get by the first line. I would still like to see JL and Haggerty together on the ice more often and Haggerty up front on the power play and not back at the point. Just my 2¢ as usual
