Dartmouth@RPI 2/25/22

Yes he was, and Cornell's Howe also played for a while on that team.

Becasuse I went to RPI then Cornell I remember that. Watson outplayed Howe so they traded the latter mid-year. Stevenson sounded famiiar as the #1 goaltender (as I remember it the #1 guy had some pretty amazing stats that year) but I wasn't sure.

Top 3 teams in the ECAC all lost tonight. QU lost 1-0 to Cornell, Clarkson lost 3-2 in OT to Yale, and Harvard lost 5-3 in Schenectady.

Got to watch this one in it's entirety and a great local pub with a gang of hockey people. Thought that this one would get a way form us even though we outshot them by a mile and won a ton of important face offs. Just seemed like we were just one step off or one foot away from the puck. But they kept on coming and the boys deserve a lot of credit. Ture had a great game and his entire line was superb. Tomorrow is another day as Harvard has everyone back from the Olympics so we are facing a different team than earlier in the year. Actually might look at the standings and try to finish so we get Dartmouth in the first round and avoid Yale who has made us look very bad

So then tomorrow you are rooting for RPI, Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, and St. Lawrence.

Actually, no. In order to avoid Yale, if Yale wins in regulation tomorrow then we would likely play SLU or Princeton if they lose their last two. If Yale loses, then we need Dartmouth to beat Union. RPI can not finish anywhere except 6th.

When we scored our 4th goal, I looked at the score line on the USCHO Main Page. At that moment, Yale led Clarkson, 2-1 (Yale won in OT); Union led Harvard, 4-2 (Union won 5-3); Brown was up on SLU, 1-0 (ended a 1-1 OT tie), Cornell was hanging on, 1-0 over Quinnipiac (that score held up) and Princeton led Colgate, 3-2 ('Gate won 4-3).

Very fluid last minutes of games all over the ECAC tonight! We will finish 6th no matter what with Harvard. And H is locked into 3rd. (I expect Harvard was looking past Union; they've been known to look past opponents.)

7-12 will be subject entirely to Saturday night's results. Several teams can finish 11th. I'm not crazy about facing Yale (matchups). Brown and Princeton show signs of life then they give it away. Union is so unpredictable this year. SLU has been poor at home, .500 on the road. Somehow Dartmouth is only 1 point behind Yale in the standings, but...

(Seems there was huge melee at the end of the Cornell-Quinnipiac game... lots of penalties as time expired including two misconducts on each team.)

J: I think so. i would rather face a team that we have looked very good against twice this season than any that have made us look bad or at best mediocre. I look at the first round as simply providing a chance to screw up. By finishing 6th and being able to get through the first round we avoid QU and Clarkson at their rinks in the second round. Cornell and Harvard are certainly not any picnic but I think our chances are still better there. Then again there is always a chance that #5 upsets #4 and we get a seed that is one spot lower.
