Dartmouth Hockey - Because it deserves it

USCHO is reporting that you guys are locked in to a #2 seed no matter where you play. I hope it's Worcester so I can drive out and see you beat someone other than Harvard while I'm in the house. Also, I have Dartmouth friends who I know will be there so it's sure to be a good time. Good luck tonight!
With Cornell and Quinnipiac in the 3rd band the only teams Dartmouth can play are Penn State or Wisconsin. Most likely Wisconsin as a switch with Denver is the most equitable. I wouldn't be surprised to see Western Michigan playing Connecticut in the other game in Worcester if that is the case. If it is Penn State look for that to be in Albany.

So by winning the conference and moving up in the NPI 2 slots, Dartmouth gets both a harder first round game (#9 PSU vs #12 Wisconsin), a worse potential second round game (#1 Michigan vs #3 MSU), and a farther site that would only marginally boost attendance with Penn State.

Count me as someone hoping the committee takes the simple route and just does the Cornell for PSU/Wisc switch and calls it a day.

Actually, Worcester and Albany are about the same distance from Hanover. Using the fastest routes Worcester would be about 25 minutes faster but Albany would be 11 miles shorter. Cornell would be a better fit for Albany but so would Penn State. Michigan and Michigan State could go to either city as they have to fly anyway. Matching up with Penn State doesn't have to be with Michigan it could also be with Western Michigan.

So as a Badger fan, what should I expect to see out of your team? Looks like a really fun matchup, I like playing teams that we've rarely or ever played before.

Dartmouth's mantra is to make the opponent uncomfortable. They're fast and very aggressive on the puck. They play a solid possession game and their ability to break out of their own zone is exceptional. The Big Green will consistently roll 4 lines as well.

Dartmouth's special teams are solid: the PP has been disappointing after the team's hot early start, especially with the offensive firepower they have, but it's been better in the postseason. Penalty kill is one of the best in the country, and that's been the case all year.

Hayden Stavroff and CJ Foley get a lot of attention what with his 29 goals, but there are a lot of very good players who fly under the radar. Offensively, Jack Silverberg leads the team in ice time for forwards. Hank Cleaves is a big kid who skates very well and has great hands. Cam Macdonald and Alex Krause are senior glue-guys who set the pace with their energy and effort. There are a lot of sneaky good forwards on the team. Defensively, it's very solid top to bottom, with Charpentier and Grable probably being the pairing you'll see the most. Charpentier has become an elite skater between last year and this year, and Grable's improvement has been significant from rookie to sophomore. Emmett Croteau has been exceptionally reliable all season long: Dartmouth went with a goalie rotation for about 2/3 of the season, but Croteau emerged as the #1 and has lived up to it.

Tim Busconi scoring the GWG vs Princeton in the ECAC final kind of symbolizes this group. You never know who is going to make a major contribution on a game by game basis

Looking forward to seeing Wisconsin in person. Glad Cole Caufield isn't there for this one!
