To the original poster, just so you know, I've seen firsthand athletes recruited as "fringe players" and by Christmas, with lots of work and perseverence, have cracked the top lines, PP and PK. So, it does happen...more often than you think. It just takes hard work, keeping your nose clean and perseverence. Good luck and keep all your options open...all the time.
