D3 Pool B??

Have we actually figured out if the Pool B is back in play this year?

With the WIAC splitting off the NCHA that gives us 7 Pool B teams..

Superior
River Falls
Stevens Point
Eau Claire

Stevenson
U of New England
Canton


Or do those bottom 3 not count towards the pool B since they are still provisional??

Canton is not a full D-III member yet so there are only six teams this year. They are still in transitional phase.

Canton is in year 2 of a 4 year reclassification process. There is a chance they could get years 3 and 4 combined and be full D-III for 2015-16.

Once they are eligible they have to find a conference and the SUNYAC requires a school to be a full D3 member for 2 years before being eligible for the conference.

I think that might strongly push the Canton towards considering the ECAC West for hockey should that bylaw remain.

Bringing back this old thread. What does the concept of "Pool B" mean? And as far as this year's National Tournament goes, how is that figured? i.e., one of the conferences only has 4 teams.
