Spooner set the scoring record today but the team lost to SCSU 4-3. I hope at some point we get these road games figured out. We couldn't afford to leave that three points on the table this weekend against the last place team in the league. Bummer! And we have to travel to Bemidji next weekend. Yikes.

BC defeated UNH 4-2. BC continues to have the worst live stats in the entire universe. Every time I look at them, they are stuck about 5 minutes into the game.

IN other games today:
- Darty over the Friars 3-2 at Fenway
- Colgate still hanging with Cornell, 2-0 late in the third
- Saints staying hot, leading Vermont 6-1 late in the third.
- No report from Storrs on the double U tilt. (Union vs Uconn).

Cornell wins 3-0.

Union and UConn are in OT tied at 2.

A more accurate account would be that the goalie Kass was still hanging on late in the 3rd. What a phenomenal game she played with very little help from the team in front of her. She withstood 42 shots, including two 5 on 3s and the pipes took care of more rebounds than her defense. Colgate had 1 shot in the 3rd including a 1:40 span of their own 5 on 3. I have never seen Kass play before, but I commend her. If she had given up the score could've easily been 8, 9-0.

Also, congrats to Lauren Slebodnick on her 2nd straight shutout for 8-0 on the season.

They have the worst stats period, and they really screw their own goaltenders. Actual shots last night were BC 43, UNH 24. I know, I counted. Box score lists them as 39 and 19 respectively.

Does it really matter, the pollsters seem to be determined to keep BC in that 4th spot to ensure a home game 1st round in the NCAA's so you will be at the game to make the adjustments and post them here :-)

I imagine it matters to Ms. Boyles. I sit behind the opposing goalie, in UNH's offensive zone all three periods, and I am certain that at the point the board read 10 UNH shots, there had been closer to 15. Not all Grade A scoring chances, but if she's asleep, taking a tour of the corners, or otherwise engaged, the puck goes in the net. That is a SOG. I'm not a goalie, but I'd prefer a save % of .928 to .9, particularly if I made the saves to earn the number!

Niagara 3 @ Mercyhurst 3 after the 2nd period. Shots 26-18 MC.

Teams have 2 power play goals and 1 even strength goal each.

Friday the 13th for UM. Struck me as having more energy than UM vs UW games last weekend. The play in the third period almost looked frantic with its intensity, for both teams.

Wilson seemed to dig deeper in the third period and just missed a wrap around with 4:30 left in the game...lost an edge and fell into the corner while attempting the wrap...and just missed.

Sad state of affairs to not be able to get someone with some degree of ability to commentate a game as important as this with these two perennial rivals as opposed to having no audio...but, possibly tomorrow.

Ohio State got a big road win tonight at Bemidji State. The final was 5-3 with goals scored by Natalie Spooner (2), Ally Tarr (2), and Minttu Tuominen.
