Not an expert but doubtful. Just like any other virus, COVID-19 can't live without a viable host for too long. A virus is essentially 'dead' until it finds a host to steal its DNA to make more of its kind...so the water itself isn't a worry given that basic idea. But, your point about humans bottling that water is interesting. Still...I would doubt it? This one (C19) isn't very stable, (from what I read) but boy, is it infectious. As we've learned, if you're basically healthy, you'll be ok if you get it. If you aren't, or in the over 60 crowd, it's extremely formidable.

I know, they did a great job of not treating it like the flu, and locking down and preventing it from spreading to its billion people.

Reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary there will always be people who need to minimize or pretend there is no risk. Similar to the Anti-vaxers who are convinced of a vast conspiracy, they put others at risk while prattling on about how there is no risk.

It is not over-reaction, panic, or overblown to be prudent and careful. People who are still clinging to this notion should all be gathered in a small area where they can enjoy their small island of non-reactive 'safety and sanity' while the rest of us are being careful. Just don't waste any of the ventilators on them. Perpetuating the gene line would be silly. No?

screening by taking temp baffles me. They can shed virus long after they have no fever, if they ever had one.

I spoke with my friend who has been in the surgery department at the Ohio State Medical Center for 30 years and in his opinion it will pan out soon enough and it comes down to common sense with the same preventative measures during flu season.
Hand washing, don't rub your eyes or pick your nose or handle food with unwashed hands and if you are in an at risk group then avoid large crowds.
90% of the fatalities from it have been in the over 50 group and 90% of those in the over 50 group that have died already had some type of underlying health issue to begin with that made them susceptible.

Your friend needs a reality check. The highest risk for fatality is the lack of medical resources should the burden of disease become too great- when there is no medical support even the people who should recover don't get treatment.

All I know is before adding to the conversation I spoke with my friend who not only is an experience physician but one of the medical center's department heads so what I relayed wouldn't be my opinion but that of someone who knows and I get called out on it by someone I don't know on forum and never interacted with before.
I don't care if anyone has a counterpoint, just be civil and we'll all be friends.
and I want to add that I am not a young man and am in the "at risk" age group and as such I resent at my age others making decisions for me. If I want to attend a sporting event at a "possible" risk to my health that's my business.
