Re: Covfefe-19: We're all getting $5/hour more in hazard pay!

I’ve been going there quite a bit- popping in early morning to get a few things and avoid hoarding. They’ve been sterilizing self checkouts after every person and also doing the carts
I know they are wiping things down but from what I am seeing things need to stay wet for a long time for that to work- so basically they are wiping, it is drying quickly and then next person has a false sense it is clean. I know someone, in one of the threads commented on cleaning stuff. Anyone have a thought?

My wife’s job failed to notify her that one of the people she came into contact with was moved to medical floor and is now a person under investigation for covid. But they apparently notified three other patents who were discharged. The person was moved on Monday. She had concerns and voiced them on Saturday. The doctors apparently cleared the person.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO STOP WAITING FOR FIFTY SYMPTOMS!? If you have one, you have COVID until your test is negative. Jfc.
Poop. Sorry to hear that!

There seems to be a lot of lousy communication re exposure. lilnsl works in a place that has an identified case but also one that wasn't able to be tested. He knows this through the grapevine but has rec'd zero official communication from either the store or public health. Pretty sure they got the result 2 days ago but then news leaked today.

Even the rest of the South laughs at Mississippi, so it's totally on-brand.

Re: Covfefe-19: We're all getting $5/hour more in hazard pay!

Jesus ****ing Christ. My wife isn’t allowed to wear a mask because “it’s a waste of PPE” and no one was diagnosed on her unit. Patients had to have a temp above 100 and another symptom to even be evaluated. And headaches, loss of smell/taste, and GI weren’t even included.

HELLLO!!!! EHAT A FUNCH OF ****ups runing that hospital.

Oh my god I’m so seething angry. I’m just boiling over.

True.
Listening to some stuff about transmission today- they were talking to someone in Germany, small town in Italy and Singapore (I think). All with huge numbers testing and active isolation of anyone who was positive. The number of asx positives was ridiculous.

Until we start looking at the 'essential' services- markets, pharmacies, take out, etc nothing is going to go well. If you think about it we are attempting to gown, mask, shield, glove to test and treat patients. At the same time we have people working with no precautions and a massive risk of exposure. Many of these people, who are almost guaranteed to be exposed, are in the age groups that will be likely to have asx disease. So we have a massive bank of vectors pretty much flying under the radar. Like they don't count because why?

Yeah, it’s insane. These essential services should be protected from getting covid from us and asymptotic spreading to us. If they’re essential, don’t we think they should be protected?

And **** the liquor stores. There is zero reason to keep those open.

Dis-ag-ree. You realize how many people would have DTs if they can't get liquor? <-- serious. Just ask anyone who works in a hospital how many people start seeing things on the walls after they don't admit they drink and end up staying unexpectedly

Actually, kind of important for active alcoholics - withdrawal without medical supervision can be fatal and we don't need them crowding the hospitals right now.

100% agree. Besides, all of our liquor stores have drive-thrus, and the inside part is closed.

Re: Covfefe-19: We're all getting $5/hour more in hazard pay!

Yeah sorry dx but liquor stores are important...seems odd but true.

Plus, I heard they tried to do that in CO (I don't have verification, I apologize) and people stormed the stores, creating crowds, which is the exact opposite of what you want at this time.

Locally, people were afraid of that, and Total Wine had to have an usher, like a bouncer, letting in (x) amount of people in at a time (that I can verify from my truck drivers; I trust them).

Katie Porter is waiting on test results too...

Re: Covfefe-19: We're all getting $5/hour more in hazard pay!

Sorry, had no idea about the consequences. That’s messed up but it makes sense. I stand fully corrected.

It's...something one doesn't normally think about. It's that out there.

Let's just say, it ain't pink elephants like in the old cartoons. More like terrifying hallucinations, paranoid psychosis, and possible seizures/heart attacks leading to death.

While this was drug-related compared to booze, I'm fully convinced that is what killed Jerry Garcia. His body didn't know how to function WITHOUT substances.
