My fiance is still dealing with symptoms. She's very fatigued and has slept a lot this weekend. Congestion, sore throat, headache and neck pain, nausea after eating, dehydration, dulled sense of smell, occasional cough. No fever and no difficulty breathing, so call it "COVID Lite".

I have it, then I'm still asymptomatic.

Those symptoms are why we are trying to avoid going out to get Omicron. Although more than one relative has gotten it, and passed through pretty fast. But one of us has a history of really long lingering colds with coughs.

One of my friends who has it just lost her sense of smell and taste. This was over a week in. Still coughing. She's in excellent shape and very healthy overall.

If you've been triple jabbed, I'm quite certain it's a matter of exposure time/proximity and total viral load. She was at the bar with her group for several hours, and unfortunately seated next to a regional country musician/minor celebrity who is a conservative old fart and undoubtedly surrounded by other conservadopes at every second rate twang show he and my fiance's friend play at.

yea, I figure that, too. And I would really like to go to one hockey game this season.

Sooner or later they will realize that it didn't have to be this way

No they won't. They will blame anyone and everyone before they do the necessary self-examination that that would require. The doctors and nurses at the hospital, who didn't trat him with the right medications. The CDC and government, for sending out Drew's favorite boogeyman, mixed messages. The liberals, for being so mean and condescending, so angry and antagonistic.

But they won't blame him, or themselves, for not getting the vaccination. Anyone but.

And I still don't understand this. Granted, vaccinated, boosted, chance of becoming really ill slim, etc. But what is the pressing need to go and hang out at bars or restaurants? The movies or concerts? Why is that a "must thing" to do?

Granted, I'm perfectly fine spending my time at home all by myself, so maybe it's just something I'm not wired to understand. But I like going out to have a nice meal and a couple beers also, and love going to concerts. Just ........I don't need to be doing it right now. It can wait.

I agree completely. I do not understand the "need" to consume at the risk of life. Wanna go out, fine, go for a fucking hike.

These guys would not have survived the Blitz. "I know it's dangerous, Jeeves, but dash it I need to play draughts at the Club!"

I've had five rides out on the bike in January so far. Another four or five sessions on the indoor trainer. Decided I was gonna really get in shape this year. When temps start hitting the 30's, I'm gonna really be hitting it. Actually have some motivation this year.

I’m a Myers-Briggs INTJ with a super strong “I” and I thought lockdown was the greatest experience of my life. Revenge of the introverts.

"

Because for the vast vast majority of the vaccinated and boosted the risk of dying or being seriously il from Covid is probably not significantly greater than the risk of dying or suffering a serious injury on a hike.

if someone is unvaccinated, they are a moron.

INTJ as well. I is like 1% over E. I'm fairly confident one of the others was close as well.

I wonder what getting married and the pandemic has done to my scores.

While it’s cool to associate oneself with the results of the Myers-Briggs test, they’re about as worthless as astrology when it comes to predicting someone’s personality and behaviors. I’m also an INTJ, and while most of us are cis white male liberal college hockey fans, no less than three of those traits better predict who we are than being an INTJ.
The lockdown was cool in that I got to spend more time with my family, while living in a poor state meant my wife made more money on unemployment than her FT job paid. Thank you, coastal elites, where $600/week means little.

Yeah, MBTI says I'm an ISTJ, which in an alternate timeline under a different education system that taught "alternative facts" would basically make me a good administrator in the Greater Nazi Reich.

What is your wife?

I have a t-shirt honoring us: "INTJ in the streets, ENTP in the sheets."
